Can anyone suggest a fix for this problem, which only affect the drivers side?
So far I've tried replacing the blade, cleaning the screen. But the judder continues especially in light rain.
The blade seems to hop across the screen leaving water lines . Does this indicate that the set angle is wrong?
Grateful for any suggestions.

did just replace the rubber blade, or the blade assembly. If the blade then get a new blade assembly - from Audi nowhere else.

If it only judders in one direction, careful twisting of the wiper arm may sort it.
Use an adjustable spanner, to achieve the same angle of wipe in both directions..

The judder only affects the upward stroke but not the return.
Can you let me know which way to twist the wiper arm? Is it towards the screen or away from the screen.

Chances are, it's as TVM says. That being the wiper assembly is loose and the blade is rattling around instead of being held securely.

It's probably due to Bosch wiper blades with a "set" in the rubber.
To test for this, whenever you leave your car after having used the wipers, lift and move the offending blade slightly so that it's "flipped" the other way and held there by the arm spring pressure. If this is the cause, you should notice an improvement after a couple of days.
Then fix the problem for the next 6 months by turning the rubber end for end in the blade, or reversing the entire blade by unclipping the plastic centre piece and reversing it - if the design permits. Repeat from time to time as required.

I've seen a few of these where the spindle is worn.
Lift the arm and give it a wobble, does it move at the spindle end? Are there any signs the wiper has been rubbing on the under side of the bonnet?
IIRC you can buy the individual spindles seperately from each other, rather than a whole mechanism, but don't quote me on that.
