• Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - 02 1.2 intermittent starting problem 19 Dec 2012 (Forum)
  First I fitted a new battery - although old one seemed OK - Next fitted new plugs (Despite huge tool kit, had to buy special spanner -Those Frenchies!) Next stop was new coil/leads from Renault dealer. All has made no difference. Usually starts instantly, but then a couple of days elapse and my daughter explains that she has spent about 15 minutes trying to start it. I'm afraid that if 'we' book it into the Renault main dealer they won't find anything wrong, or charge for unnecessary work/parts, the same old fault appearing a few days later.

  I'm only going for the smaller engined end of the market - downsizing from 4.0 litres at the moment! - so it'll be a 1.6 or 2.0 litre Megane or a 1.8 or 2.0 9-3. I'm aware that the 1.6 Renault doesn't tend to impress on the performance front, but I'm not planning on any racing. I've never owned either a Renault or a Saaband intitial common sense would suggest the Swedish motor is likely to be a better bet all round, but do we have any owners of either on here who might have any views?

  Hi Guys, My Partner has a Renault Clio 1.6 Automatic, 2002 petrol engine. Recently the Toxic fume light and engine light have started coming on and the car stalls when idling, this tends to happen when it has been on a longish (10 mile) journey and then left for half and hour and used again.

  hi i have a renault megane scenic 05. recently my dahsboard went off. it came back on 2 days later, my recorded mileage went up from 44000 to 162000!. i spoke to the renault dealer where i bought the car. They said that theyd give me £2500 part exchange on another car. i agreed and signed an agreement. i was supposedto pick the car up yesterday. on my way to the dealership, ny car cut out on the motorway. frst the dashboard said injector failure then brake failure then my starter motor started clicking on its own and the noise wouldnt stop.

  My partner had a 2008 Renault Grand Scenic from new this year. It has the 2.0l petrol engine with an auto gearbox. When you drive the car it stays in low gears for too long making a lot of noise and using too much fuel. We have taken it back to our local Renault dealer - {generalised -DD} and they say that nothing is wrong they say it is behaving as designed.

  Guess what. Last Friday, 15th August, open the FNS window and it refuses to then go back up. Off to Renault Main Dealer. 'Its the window regulator sir' I'm told. That's OK then. It was last replaced in April this year and as your invoice states 'All vehicle repairs and parts guaranteed 12 months' then it will be done FOC.

  I have an '02 Renault Megane 1.4 16v Fidji which I've had from new with not many problems. Last month it started having trouble starting, the engine would try to turn over but wouldn't start up. It would after a few attempts however start up and once it did start, it would drive quite happily.

  I have been looking at the brand new Renault Megane 1.9DCi 130 Dynamique models for sale at £9999 (3dr) and £10999 (5dr) on www.motorpoint.co.uk, a saving of almost £5k against the UK list price. I called Motorpoint to ask about the warranty and was told that the vehicles were built for the Cyprus market but would be covered by the manufacturers warranty.
