She went against my advice and put the new tyres on the front. She is ok just suffering from delayed shock, the car has a cracked windscreen not sure what else, the airbags did not deply.

  • How do I remove Rain-X? 11 Sep 2017 (Forum)
I used the windscreen wipers for the first time today and I'm gutted to see that the previous owner has used Rain-X or something similar on the screen, it's working great on the side windows, but it reduces visibility to zero when using the wipers on the front. :-( I know that the stuff wears off eventually, but does anyone know of a way to speed this up?
  • Honda CRV 2007 - Washer fluid reservoir bottle 30 Jul 2012 (Forum)
He says I am over-filling yet it is not as you cannot see the water filling up (as you can with my 2004 Honda Crv). He also says if water coming out of windscreen wipers (front and back) there is no problem. My concern is that could this water just be water left in the system? But it doesn't get away from the problem of water leaking when filling up. Any advice here besides getting dealer to "fix" again?!

  • CarPlan Windscreen wash 5 Jan 2017 (Forum)
I had some Carplan Windscreen wash, and wanted to know what "severe winter conditions" meant, since that was when you were not supposed to dilute the screenwash.   I was astonished to find that undiluted, it protected the wash to -3 degrees.
  • VW Golf 1.6 TDI (2009) - Rear windscreen wiper 16 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Silly question - but I can´t for the life of me figure out where on earth the rear windscreen wiper switch is. Doesn´t seem to be on the main wiper stalk. I live in Portugal - so handbook is Portuguese. Hence the quesiton here.   Thanks in advance

  • Windscreen washer home brew 10 Nov 2009 (Forum)
First frost of the season at the caravan in (dead) leafy North Yorkshire, and very chilly it is, too. This set me wondering about the windscreen washer reservoir and what to put in it. Could go to Halfords and get the old 'three for two', but I wondered if anyone had any alternative home recipes? Needs to clean the screen and not freeze.

  • Windscreen replacement 11 Jan 2002 (Forum)
My BMW 320 coupe (E36) has a growing crack in its windscreen and will need a replacement. I seem to remember reading/hearing about a screen replacement company which uses a high power light to melt the adhesive holding the old screen, making removal less brutal.

  • rear heated screen (universal) 17 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Hi I'm guessing this applies universally to all cars, on the heated rear screens how does the connector bond to the screen? Mine has been caught getting stuff in and out the boot and is no longer attached, with winter drawing in I want to re attach it.
