Daewoo Matiz - cooling system - fuelmizer

Car cooling system appears to be under performing on the heating of the car? The temp gauge is not getting up to temperature consistently, the radiator fan does operate when car stationary but in the cabin when driving even with the dashboard fan switch on '4' the heating is mediocre !?!

My thoughts are, maybe an airlock ? if so, what is the cure? thermostat? cure a new one :-) or maybe the rad cap? cure a new one:-),

All helpful suggestions will be much appreciated

Stuck thermostat?

Checjk (carefully) teh lower radiator hose when the engine has had a long run and is hot. It should be warm..

Hi madf,

yes you were spot on! on inspection, the thermostat was knackered, being stuck wide open!! new one fitted and now can face driving the winter in the car,
