  • Prius - the cold facts 8 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Been thinking seriously about a Prius for next car. But with the winter in mind, and reading how it can be driven off without needing the petrol engine, I take it that the heating system doesn't require it either? In which case, is this the early starter's holy grail of instant heat from the word go?

  • C200 Kompressor 3 dr manual coupe 20,000 miles - Mercedes antenna repair 2 Mar 2016 (Forum)
I cannot believe Mercedes would design a car with an antennae that can only be reached through the rear windscreen. An antennae is not a consumable and has been placed in an almost inaccessible place.  Surely this must be a design fault?
  • Jaguar X-Type - Grating windscreen wipers 1 Jul 2012 (Forum)
The new blades are good for a short while (just a few months in fact) and then I have to change them. Never had such a problem with them as on this car, normally I have been getting several years use on other cars. The strange thing is that in the course of a day they can go from being grating and not clearing well to being suddenly quiet. I have read  some BMW 3 series are also prone to this problem; I wonder if they are flipping over properley?

  • Windscreen replacement - any companies to avoid? 15 Jul 2008 (Forum)
The windscreen on my Legacy has just cracked and will need replacing, (stone chip damage). I had the same problem on my Passat about four years ago and was definitely NOT impressed by the standard of the workmanship when it was replced by one of the big companies in this market.

It's a 1997 Vauxhall Omega Elite 3.0 Saloon The Climate Control system produces no heat in any mode, auto or manual. All the blower fans can be heard working, the digital displays and switch illuminations all work . . . but no heat from the vents. Your guidance, as always, very much appreciated.
  • Nissan Micra K11 1994 M reg - windscreen washer fluid not coming out 6 Jun 2010 (Forum)
Hi, we have a nissan micra. Recently when you pull the wiper lever to make the fluid squirt out onto the windscreen it no longer does it. I listened and it does not make any noise, so I think maybe it is a problem with the fuse, pump, electrics, washer lever switch? Any ideas how to go about fixing it?
  • Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 00 1.4 Blocked windscreen washers 7 May 2009 (Forum)
Sorry to be a complete girlie, however, I have a blockage in the tube leading to the driver's side windscreen washer. When I say blockage, I can see the tube and the tube appears to be hard in the middle, like its calcified. All other washers are working fine. How do I fix it? Can I pull the tube off and replace it?

  • Mercedes-Benz A-Class LWB - Noise from heating/ventilation system 6 Mar 2014 (Forum)
I pressed the air recirculation button.  About 16 loud clunks occur (about 1 per second) then stop. Same repeats each time car is started.  Does not seem to affect heating or ventilation.  Not sure about recirc, though. Independent garage seems to know about this kind of fault ('likely motor, about £70') plus up to 7 hours removing and reinstalling the whole dash.
