97 3.0 Climate Control, no heat. - isobella greene
It's a 1997 Vauxhall Omega Elite 3.0 Saloon

The Climate Control system produces no heat in any mode, auto or manual. All the blower fans can be heard working, the digital displays and switch illuminations all work . . . but no heat from the vents.

Your guidance, as always, very much appreciated. Thanks.

Is the engine running at the correct temperature. If it is check the temperature of the heater feed and return pipes where they go through the bulkhead in the engine bay, they should both be roughly the same temperature, it could be a blocked matrix if the return is cooler.

thank you.

Do you get - - displayed on the CC displays when you switch off the engine? this means there is a fault detected.

Also, does the outside temperature on the Info. display read true?
This is used as an input.
There is also a temp sensor behind the small grille at the top of the CC control panel.

When you check the pipes going into the bulkhead, follow them, I think there may be a valve on one.

Make sure the coolant level is correct. Also check the heater control valve is not stuck shut .It is vacuum operated & situated at the rear of the engine below the wiper motor.Access to it is very awkward.

If it is producing no heat at all than that suggests that the system is not using the heater matrix or the electric heaters within the air trunking ( I assume any omega with CC will have these?). Can't think of anything else to try myself (none of my omegas have had CC...) , try asking on the omega-owners group over on yahoo!
