Vauxhall Corsa D, 2008 - heated wing mirror replacement - happyvaux

Hi all,

Whilst driving, my driver's side wing mirror went 'thump' and the glass has gone black.

(I had had the mirror folded-back whilst parked, then started the car with the demister switched on...........then 30 seconds after folding the mirror back out whilst driving away.........thump)

Is it easy to change the heated ones urself? I haven't got a H@ynes yet..

Also, does it sound like there's a short too, or maybe it's just a one-off?

Cheers,

Pete

are we refering to electrochromatic (tinting) glass here?

The mirror glass is just a clip on fit that has plastic claws.Easy to fit but probably better in a warm environment where the plastic is more flexible.Interestingly, the heated glass is cheaper than the non-heated.(from dealer).hth

On closer inspection, ie during the day when I'd finished the nightshift.....

I saw that it hadn't gone black. The glass had fell off! LMAO

The backing plate is shiny black and so it looked like the glass had turned black.

I just replaced it with a generic one from H@lfords

Ha ha, it's surprising how things look in the dark (well, that's my excuse anyway)
