  • Toyota Yaris - Toyota Yaris Diesel Mk2 2010 - DPF Regeneration 19 Aug 2013 (Forum)
The problem has been reported to the garage and the technican didn't find anything wrong with it as there was no fault code being logged in the ECU. My dilema is that Toyota Technical Service ageed that the the DPF need changing, but they said the fault need to be identified by the garage, but the garage doesn't seem to find any fault code being stored in the ECU.
  • 2005 Volkswagen Polo 1.2 (55PS) E - Engine Mis-fire when Idling 23 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Since the coils were replaced, the mis-fire is on cylinder three only. The mechanic now believes that the fault could be with the ECU. He said that a faulty coil (before I had them replaced) could have sent a charge back to the ECU, causing damage. I am just after some advice really before I spend more money! Any ideas?

  • Vauxhall Corsa C (2005) 1.2 SXI - EML on and loosing power! HELP PLEASE? 30 Jan 2011 (Forum)
I took it to vauxhall in the first instance who, surprise surprise, diagnosed the problem to be the Engine Control Unit (ECU) after replacing the coil pack and sparks plugs also. I had the ECU replaced and this did not rectify the problem. I then had it re-diagnosed by a different garage as the head gasket which, as the car was blowing white smoke, was understandable.

  • FORD Galaxy 1.9 tdi - White smoke everywhere 27 Mar 2010 (Forum)
It looks as if the car is about to go up in flames. A week a go I had the engine codes read, P1570 and P1557. engine ECU blocked and Turbo pressure control repectively. I had been having a problem with dramatic power limitation at 60mph and also irractic accelaration on light throttle. Both of these where intermittant.
  • Toyota Avensis (2003 - 2008) - 2001 1.8VVTi Co2 emission fail 16 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Toyota dealer is not seeing the blue smoke reported by the tester but agrees there is a problem As far as I know car drives fine. Although it has always used oil which is a common problem. Tomorrow they are swapping in an ECU from another car and will reprogramme it to see if that fixes the problem. Failing that they are out of ideas. Investigative labour charge is already £400 with no resolution. If it is the ECU what is rough cost and what other things could cause high CO2??
