  • Where can water get in from? 16 Jan 2007 (Forum)
I have poured full buckets of water down the front vents, the screen, jetwashed right up against the edge of the windscreen, etc, but the car stays dry. It seems to come in through the passenger footwell vents but I could be wrong. I have siliconed the chassis and replaced the pollen filter housing but I am now totally and utterly stumped.

  • Features I'd like in a car 10 May 2005 (Forum)
Things I'd like to see on all cars: 1-foglights that turn off automatically after 10 minutes. 2-ditto indicators 3-seatbelts you cant trap in doors 4-light sensitive horns that deactivate during hours of darkness 5-speed governers you can set easily yourself 6-an extra button on your key remote that closes all the windows and sunroof 7-windscreen washers that give a spray, not a jet 8-door speakers that arent obscured by passengers legs etc 9-some way of demisting the side windows that actually work 10-front seats that you genuinely can fold flat Anyone care to add to the list?
  • Rain X 8 Jan 2004 (Forum)
I've read the archives. Personally: Love it. Only thing that keeps my front screen clear as the 20 year old windscreen wiper motor is distinctly sticky. Drizzle in the dark making it difficult? Turn those wiper blades off. Side & back windows - a dream. Long lasting - lasts forever. 6 months since I applied it, 5k miles, car lives outside.

  • VW Golf Mk5 GT TDi 140 - intermittent demister failure 9 Jan 2012 (Forum)
When the fans are set to recirc the air everything works fine.  However to confuse things when you switch on the front windscreen washers the demister starts working again for a short period of time.
  • Air con 3 Nov 2001 (Forum)
When I switch my air con on a get a damp smell which eventually clears. Also if I switch it off while travelling, it tends to steam up the front windscreen and the air gets a warm a damp smell which takes quite a while to disperse! Is this normal? Will getting the aircon serviced/gas changed help, or is there something else I could do?
  • Pug 106 Handbrake 5 Feb 2004 (Forum)
Does a Pug 106 Look 2 (98) automatic rear brake ( Bendix ) adjuster also deal with hand brake cable length, I get the impression it does not as they refer to hand brake cable adjustment ever 12K miles. If so is it the rear or front heat shield that has to come off. Thanks Peter

  • Nissan Leaf - Leafing my wallet alone! 18 Apr 2025 (Forum)
The interior is well made and rattle free and it’s spacious and practical with a surprisingly large boot. The heating controls are simple and not buried under menu’s in a touchscreen. It’s quite easy to live with. I’m not a fan of the styling, but I quite like the interior. It’s a bit dark and the high dash and small windscreen make it feel a little claustrophobic but it’s well built and the heated front seats are comfortable.
  • Emergency Windscreen 7 Sep 2005 (Forum)
A colleague is having his windscreen replaced at this moment, when lo and behold, another colleague pipes up that he has an emergency windscreen in his boot. My disbelief in the existence of such an item prompted him to get it from his car, and it's a plastic sheet with metal stiffeners like an umbrella.
