Mazda 6 2.0D Sport 5dr Hatch - Levytation
Hi, new contributor here.

Took delivery of the above during the week as a company car purchase as my 55 plate Mondeo 2.0 tdci Titanium X Estate was 3k away from the 100k serice and 6 weeks away from its first MOT.

Some initial thoughts that spring to mind:

It looks good in the Sunlight Silver (I initially wanted Lilac Silver but couldn't do with the 4-6 week wait)

In the reviews I've read the engine gets slated for being 'agricultural'. It sounds far less like a tractor than the Mondeo ever did from new.

I still prefer the Mondeo for roadholding, grip and general confidence you get from 'knowing' a car, especially the original set up I had on Continentals all round

The running lights are a pain and are causing annoyance to other road users. They are permanently on so I really don't see the point of the auto lights function. I've resorted to driving around on parking (i.e side lights) during the day

The handbook is an inch thick. It took me 10 minutes to suss out how to change the clock and pair my mobiles with the Bluetooth facility. Ford's always score in this department in that the 'technology' they build in is always user friendly and you don't usually need to have to resort to a handbook to find your way round to set things up

I like the shape of the Mazda and several people have commented on it...it regularly gets mistaken for being a Lexus at first followed by the 'I didn't realise Mazda made cars like that' comment afterwards

The driver seat could do with being able to be lowered by another inch or so

The Bose sound system is 'ok', but nowhere near as good as the one I had in a Y reg 2.4JTD 156 Veloce a few years back

I was originally going to get a 1.8 tdci Titanium X Mondeo but the waiting list put me off. Apart from the heated front windscreen (and I could have done with that this morning) the spec is as good if not better in the 6
