Is there a Motability car that is also capable of being used as a family car?

We are about to receive the DLA at its highest award which will mean a Motability car will be available to us. We have had Fords since the year dot and now have a C-Max (which I do not like due to the blind spots on the front of the windscreen). As my husband will soon be in a wheelchair full-time, as we will be in receipt of the Motability, I need a family car so that we can still take the grandchildren out. Also, once my husband is unable to walk at all, will the S-Max be the best car to take an adaption so that he can remain in his wheelchair, and and can it be adapted so that he can remain seated in the wheelchair? Or will it be better to get a hoist? Also, can you recommend a car that would fit the bill even though it may not be a Ford?
