Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 1.6 (115) poor fuel economy..help! 19 Aug 2013 (Forum)
It's coming up for a service and obviously we'll make sure that the air filter and plugs are changed and see what happens after that (Tyres pressures are fine). Is there anything else you can think off to ask the garage to investigate as a possible cause of the problem? Otherwise, nice car despite the annoying habit of not starting if I leave it parked on a (upward) slope if the fuel warning light is on! -
Chrysler Grand Voyager 1998 3.3 Auto - Won't start as if it has run out of petrol 24 Oct 2011 (Forum)
Sorry but I have lost the information I was following on the threads (everything seems so old I wanted to see if the site is still active) No one wants to work on it. The car was running fine. Parked up one night. went to it in the morning and it was as if we had run out of petrol. so put petrol in, still nothing. I have had 4 mechanics looking at the car and it has to be recovered on a lorry every time to another garage. -
1994 BMW E36 M3 - White smoke (over fuelling?) 22 May 2010 (Forum)
Hey guys, Right my car starts fine and seems to idle and run ok until she starts warming up (roughly around the end of the red bar), when she seems a little down on power but also starts smoking from the exhaust. Upon parking up, she spits out plenty of smoke and even some petrol splashes and reeks of fuel. -
Do insurers pass claims details on? 22 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Last summer whilst I was parked at our local hospital, the car in front reversed into me as he was about to leave. We exchanged details and I had my car checked the following day but other than a small mark on the bumper it was fine and I was happy to leave it. -
Boot Light, a Quick Fix 23 Oct 2009 (Forum)
Was leaving the supermarket today and as i pass Hallfords to go home i thought I would call in and see how much the bulbs where and possibly fix it so in the car park of the supermarket to get the old bulb out i removed the plastic lens/bulb holder from the back of the boot and it came out completely unattached to any cabling. i was a little puzzled so poking my fingers in the hole that the holder sits in, i managed to pull out the cable and connector and connect up the bulb, and it works absolutely fine, i even tested that it goes out when the boot lid is shut by removing the parcel shelf and closing it and it does The car isn't throwing up any error messages ( bulb failure) and everything works as it should I think its been removed by the last owner (for reasons i cant think of) or its not been fitted when manufactured (i think unlikely) What do other Br's think, has anything similar happened to you? -
Ford KA, KA2, KA3 (1996 - 2008) - 03 1.3 Steering Pump noise & shaft end float 29 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Whilst the belt was off I felt/checked the water pump, alternator and and the pulleys and they felt fine. No aircon. Does anyone know if there should be that sought of end float on the shaft - or any end float come to that? Or any other thoughts? -
SAAB 900 (1993 - 1998) - 1995 2.3 Enigne Fault Light 15 May 2008 (Forum)

VW Golf Mk3 VR6 - Head Gasket? 8 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Green flag do a temporary repair and the car now works fine. Would the above stalling / poor running cause the 'mayonaise' or is it likely to be the HG? I had a recon engine block fitted about 1 year ago, so I assume the HG would have been changed then. -

Cutting congestion 26 Apr 2003 (Forum)
I do something which seems to be getting less common - walk ! Given the amount of whingeing people do about the price of petrol, parking costs/fines etc. I really can't understand why people who live in areas like mine don't walk or even take the bus more often. For some it seems to be a question of image - the "I'd never be seen on an effing bus mate !" -

Post-delivery discover engine duff any recourse? 3 Nov 2018 (Forum)
We agreed he would deliver the car to me, which he did (albeit several hours later than planned so it was dark by the time he arrived). Anyway, it started fine, we drove it off the truck and parked it up in my street- it ran fine for a few minutes with no obvious problem. We sorted the V5, although in the rush no receipt was handed over (with the usual "sold as seen" etc. on) The next day I decide before using it, it'll probably want a service and good look over. -
Selling a cosmetically challenged car 19 Aug 2005 (Forum)
I don't particularly care what my car looks like, and in fact I kinda like it looking rubbish, as then I'm never worried about parking it in dodgy places. Mechanically it's fine. Rover serivced until it got too old to be worth the money, then looked after at a decent local garage. For me, the car is ideal, and in a perfect world I'd just SORN it and store it away as a sort of spare, but I'm shortly not going to have the room for that. -
125k '16, this gen, pSH vs 95k, FSH, last gen '15 1 Sep 2024 (Forum)
The 2016 has inbuilt GPS, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, tyre sensor, parking sensors, auto mirrors and wipers etc. but 25k extra miles and less service history. The 2015 is last gen model, lacks those extras, but full service history. Has a minor scratch/blemish on the rear.
