Lexus assures owners that all affected cars remain safe to drive, but advises anyone with questions to call the Lexus Recall Helpline on 0800 1388744. This latest recall is part of a wider recall of 1.67 million cars worldwide by Toyota, including more than 1 million in Japan alone, most relating to a faulty master brake cylinder.

    Vintage Adventurer, 70-year old, Rod Wade, along with his and his co-driver Michael Flanders, have set upon an ambitious world record. The pair are to attempt the 2947 mile coast-to-coast drive across the USA in their 1930 Ford Model A in less than 60 hours. They set off the sandy beach at Ocean Avenue, Staten Island at 00.01am on Columbus Day (Monday 14 October), heading for Venice Beach, California.

    Norman's modern day successor, Mike Cross, Chief Engineer, Vehicle Integrity, at the wheel of the new Jaguar XKR-S, marked the event in style with a series of dramatic demonstration runs up the notorious Goodwood hill. Joining Mike in taking on the hill was ex-Le Mans and BTCC racer Anthony Reid driving an XFR – his enthusiastic driving style won him the TAG Heuer 'Most Spirited Getaway' award. The 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed will see Jaguar take centre stage with a dramatic sculpture being commissioned for the lawn in front of Goodwood House.

    The 1965 Ferrari 250 GTO Evocazione offered for sale by Historics, is expected to fetch a more manageable hammer price in the region of £240,000. Based on an original, matching numbers, right hand drive Ferrari 330 GT, the car was purpose built to create an authentic copy of the only right hand drive 4.0 Litre five-speed 250 GTO, built by Ferrari to compete at Le Mans. Completed in 1993, the chassis was shipped to Italy where it was shortened and converted to GTO specification, before a handmade aluminium body was painstakingly sculpted, and subsequently returned to the UK for fitting by Ferrari experts.
