  Why do so many Backroomers say the car manufactirer's name when really they're talking about a particular franchised dealer? Why do they say "I took my car to Renault" when really they mean they took their car to a Renault dealer?

• Renault Clio II 1.2 16V - Renault Clio 1.2 16V misfire 3 Aug 2013 (Forum)
  I have a 2002 3dr Renault Clio that has a strange misfire. It can run normal, altough a bit lumpy, but when left on tick over the engine light comes on and it starts to misfire really badly. I have put my OBD2 scanner on it and got the following results at different times: P0314 Single Cylinder Misfire (Cylinder not Specified) P0300 Random/Multiple cylinder misfire Detected I have replaced the following parts trying to solve this: The top wiring loom all 4 injectors Throttle body TDC Sensor Coil pack, with leads twice one was a brand new one Plugs twice NGK and now Champion plugs from Renault   After all this the problem still exsist, I went for a 4 mile round drive today, on the 1st 2 miles it was great, altough still a little lumpy, but after it had been stopped, restarted and had ticked over for a minute or two the engine light started flashing and it was misfiring really badly all the way home!!

  Dear Forum Members, I would be extremely grateful if anyone could pass on any hints about what the problem may be with my Renault Clio II Petrol - 16 V Extreme 53 (approx 68,000 miles). It has been regularly serviced by Renault since I purchased it 6/7 years ago. I first noticed a loss of power and juddering so sent it to various mechanics.

  However no matter where I try I am told this part is only available from a Renault dealer. Whats more you cannot just purchase the gear linkage cable from Renault. They only supply what they call the gear linkage assembly which includes the gear knob (I was even asked whether I wanted a vinyl or leather one), the gear lever, the assembly it fits into, and the 2 gear change cables one for forward gears the other for reverse.

  Hi I have an S-reg Renault Clio 1.2 RN which I bought from my grandfather-in-law last year. He bought it from a Renault dealer in Chelmsford, where it was serviced all the time he owned it, so it has a full official Renault service history.

  Hello, Could someone please help me with this. I bought a used Renault Scenic 2 weeks ago from a reputable, although not Renault, dealer. However, yesterday I got into my car and noticed that the blower does not work on setting number 4. It is fine on 1, 2 and 3 though.

  New to forum hoping some1 can help. I bought a renault clio in sept 2010 from local garage started to have problems with cold starting since december several times had breakdown out which advised me to have it put on diagnostic machine did so today at renault dealership car has come back with allsorts of problems such as memorised egr , heater plugs inlet metering valve no 3 cyl combustion.which is gonna cost loads to be fixed and to top it all off the car was brought there in 2006 with over 102000 miles on clock, my mileage today is 86912 im in bits please can you tell me what i can do about this and if there is anything that can be done. only been driving for 2yrs and this is the third car that i have had feeling like i have no luck at all. will be grateful for any advice.

• Renault Laguna II (2001 - 2007) - 02 dci about to fail? 26 Aug 2009 (Forum)
  I examined it and found at 2200 rpm it would puff back through the air intake, there is oil in the intercooler and at joins along the pipe to it. I know its the EGR valve/turbo issue again but is the engine likely to be damaged? Will Renault do anything? (it was 'properly!!' serviced every 18k miles). I have advised her to trade it in at Renault if its unlikely that they will stand over the engine (it is after all their baby) and say nothing, at least then the new owner will have protection.

  The Scenic is due the 2nd annual service in 6 weeks, but will probably get it done just before I go on hols in 3 weeks. My local main dealer has quoted £250 inc vat, but there is a fairly new (I think) Renault specialist locally who has quoted £123 inc vat for the same service. I am anxious that I don't invalidate my warranty and explained that to him, and he said that they source the parts from my local main dealer and then when invoicing me they need to put the Renault part numbers on it to show that it has been done correctly.
