  just got a renault megane 1.6 rt sport alize..when i close the drivers door there seems to be a little bang coming from the passenger side,ive had the bonnet up and closed the drivers door and it seems to be coming from the passenger side. when im driving it theres no noise whatsoever...anybody else with a megane have this noise?

  hi all, i have a 2002 mondeo tdci zetec 130 manual, it lacks a little power, though still drives quite well. My mechanic hooked up his computer to the ECU and tells me the no.3 injector is out. Are these hard to change? should i try having it cleaned, or should i try an injector cleaner first?

  ive just got a 130 tdi golf and its only doing low 30 to the gallon ive put a air flow meter on it and a egr valve and it has made no difference im driveing it fairly steady and getting very low mpg and the odd puff of black smoke it also seems to be a bit under powered/lazy compaired to my fabia vrs which has the same engine

  when driving my Combo from cold every thing is OK until the engine temp reaches normal operating temp and then the service light comes on, twice I have had it plugged into a diagnostic reader and both times it has said there are no codes to read, and on the snapshot side there are no snapshots to read, how do I get the EOBD to read and report the codes.

  I've been thinking of buying a Fiat 500 and on this site (and others) have seen references to a new model which will offer improved ride and handling. I went in to the showroom to test drive one today and the salesman didn't know anything about it. Does anyone here know the bottomline on this? Is the salesman trying to shift current spec or is the new model just a rumour based on improvements in the 500c and Abarth models?

  Mine is just a load of boring questions: Why was is it made illegal to drive without wearing a seat belt? A. Perhaps to reduce serious injury thereby save public money spent through NHS on accidents? Why are bikers not penalised for riding around wearing just jeans and a t shirt in the summer?

  I've been experiencing occasional brief slowing down when driving as if I've applied the brakes momentarily. I've also been told of my brake lights flickering. Since I believe this subject has come up before (Linesman in March 09 I believe) I'd be grateful for any information to explain this experience and, hopefully, a cure for the problem.

  Cruising down the M3 yesterday with SWMBO driving. I saw this lump of debris --bit of lorry tyre or a mudflap--fly through the air towards us at a great rate of knots, it hits the front of the car with a thump causing three small dents in a line and taking some paint too.

  I have to crank it five or six times, it slowly starts to fire and when it catches it staggers and missses and then it might die after a couple of seconds. If I engage drive or reverse to soon it dies. Once it is going it is fine, but every now and then it will still miss. HELP Thanks Daedalus

  Is it true that a car with a CVT gearbox can not tow any extra weight (trailer / caravan) ? I am also interested to know how they drive, do you put your foot down and the revs stay at 3,000rpm all of the time until the speed is higher ? How do you perform a kick down like in a normal automatic ?

  Where is the fuel filter on this car so i can elliminate it as a possable cause. The car has been sitting in my drive unused for 1 year, would this have an impact on the performance. I have had the exhaust checked out at ATS and its ok, what should i do next, thanks.

  I have a renault laguna 1.8 16v Dynamique 2002, hatchback and has a rattling sound when idling (like a diesel car). i think that this is probably how they sound, i just bought the car from a local dealer and would not like to think there is a problem already. I am use to driving a 2.5 v6 omega, not these "smaller engined lawnmowers" lol

  Has anyone experienced or know of a similar problem to my 52 plate Civic? When I am driving my Electronic Power Steering Light flickers on the dashboard and my steering goes heavy as the power steering jumps on an off. However when I switch on my headlights the fault goes away! Am I looking at a faulty earth connection somewhere or is there a major problem occurring?

  I've tried rocking the car,plus opening the petrol cap in case it's in some sort of vacuum but no effect. Have to drive it some more and see if it's just a one off.... Can't find anything on the web about this. noz

  Hi, I notice on the drop-down menus there are now three Prius with a new one listed from 2009 - anyone know when this is coming out as I have heard and read mixed reports with Jan being the launch date, others have said March and then more seem to indicate even 2010? HJ, do you have any idea when you might be test-driving one of these? Just wondering, T.

  Quite a handsome car and evidently very nice to drive. But I would never buy a car with one of those push-button folding roofs. Guaranteed to embarrass you one fine (or not fine) day; slow, heavy, fussy, space-hungry... ghastly things. If I fancied a car like that - and I don't really - I would go for a canvas roof and a removable hard-top that could be taken off and left at home.

  Hi Just had my Corolla d-4d serviced. When I start it first thing in the morning its fine , if I drive it for a mile or so and then try to restart it it will not start unless left for about an hour or so any ideas .... I have never had an issue like this in the 3 years I have owned this car

  The car is for my wife and needs to be registered in her name, so I was wondering how I would go about dealing with the V5 if I buy the car. Is there a way I can buy the car and drive it away without her being present? The BCA website indicates not, but I would rather she didn't have to take the day off work just for the sake of a signature.

  my june 06 sporting has just broken a front spring this morning. after less than 20k, and careful driving this is not something i have EVER had a problem with before. there doesnt appear to be any threads from others on a similar subject, and nothing in HJ's car by car listing either. .********* any advice pls
