  'As visitors journey through the exhibition they will be asked a series of questions about how they think the car might change in the future and how it may affect them. For example, do they like the idea of being a passenger in a fully automatic pod and would they miss driving? Finally they will be asked to decide how they feel about the future, as it has many unknowns!' The exhibition is included within the Museum entrance fee. Museum entry is £14.50 for adults, £12.50 for concessions, £9 for children (5-16 years) and under 5s are FREE.

  The engine was Rover’s KV6, as fitted to the 2.0 75, and mated to a five-speed Jatco automatic transmission with Steptronic function - a transmission that was arguably less advanced than the Stepspeed CVT that was fitted to four-cylinder 45s and 25s but which, apparently, would have exploded if fed with the extra torque of the 150bhp V6.

  Since May 2018,  any Euro5 diesel that emits visible smoke of any colour will automatically fail the MoT. DPFs will also face mandatory checks, with failures being issued if the tester finds evidence that the filter was removed or has been tampered with. Aftermarket high intensity discharge (HID) headlamps are banned, with owners required to convert their HID headlamps back to halogen.

  Thanks to its square sides it’s a fairly spacious car, with masses of rear legroom. As with most Japanese cars, this example is an automatic. It’s powered by a 1.5-litre VVTi petrol engine and has covered 62,000 miles since it was built in 2000.
