      A number of cars accelerated way past estimate, with a lovely little   1947 MG TC Midget selling for nearly double its estimate, at £19,121,   and a rare and stunning LHD 1969 Maserati Ghibli Coupe also generating   quite a bidding battle before it sold to a Danish buyer for £39,124,   some £12,000 over top estimate.   “In both these cases the vendors had opted to set a very reasonable   reserve which meant an appealing guide price.

  • Fiat to acquire remainder of Chrysler Group 2 Jan 2014 (News)
    The deal will mean more cooperation between Fiat, Chrysler, Lancia, Dodge, Jeep and Maserati brands – we may see a broader range of models on sale in the UK but most of the cooperation will be behind the scenes. That means shared technology between brands. Sergio Marchionne, Chief Executive of FIAT and Chairman and CEO of Chrysler Group, said “The unified ownership structure will now allow us to fully execute our vision of creating a global automaker that is truly unique in terms of mix of experience, perspective and know-how, a solid and open organisation that will ensure all employees a challenging and rewarding environment.”
  • Car design awards see BMW, Fiat win 11 Mar 2008 (News)
    The company gave the Car Design of the Year 2007 prize for production to Fiat for its Fiat 500 model, with the Maserati Gran Turismo and Audi A5 vehicles coming second and third respectively. It also handed a gong to the BMW Concept CS, which it named Car Design of the Year 2007 for a concept automobile, coming ahead of the Mazda Taiki and Citroen C-Cactus.

  • RM bags more than £21m at its London sale 11 Sep 2013 (News)
    The well-established RM London is now established as a highlight of the annual auction calendar, helping to re-establish the UK as a vitally important auction mcar market. The top selling lot was the 1957 Maserati 250S from the Laidlaw Competition Car Collection. It's an ex-Carroll Shelby and Jim Hall car, and the only 250S originally built with a 2.5-litre engine. It's a well-provenanced example, and fully justified its £2,128,000 sale price.
  • Earls Court Motor Show set to star at Goodwood Revival once again 24 Aug 2011 (News)
    Expect to see gorgeous and influential models, such as the Jaguar E-type, Bentley Continental R-type, Citroen DS, plus various Maserati, Ferrari and Alfa-Romeo models. Goodwood’s historic links with Earls Court are strong.  The famous London Earls Court exhibition site was built on land once owned by the Duke of Richmond; the Earl in the name referring to the Earl of March, from whom the present 10th Duke of Richmond, and his son Lord March, are directly descended.

    .  Volkswagen is also recalling 3800 cars over a seat belt and airbag problem, while Citroen, Honda, BMW and Vauxhall are issuing national alerts over airbag faults.  There are also some significant issues with Porsche and Maserati, with the later recalling the Ghibli and Quattroporte over a fuel leak. The 911 is also subject to a national recall, because the windscreen may have been fitted with insufficient bonding product.

    Some of the star attractions at the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power have been announced, including famous racing cars from Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, and Williams. Other highlights include a Maserati 250F made famous by Juan Manuel Fangio and Sir Stirling Moss. Aston Martin will be celebrating its centenary at the event, displaying cars like the DB4 GT, the 1959 DBR4 and tge 1955 DB2/4, which was one fastest cars of its era, both on road and on track.

    In addition to this, a 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage was snapped up for £50,400 and a Maserati Quattroporte V8 Executive GT saloon produced in the same year attracted a final bid of £50,400. BCA operations director Simon Henstock said the change in the market was not a total surprise.

Other cars from the collection include a 1923 Bentley 3-Litre TT Replica, a 1960 Maserati 3500 GT, 1981 Aston Martin V8 Volante, 1923 Rolls-Royce 20hp, and a 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth. There is also a 1924 La Buire 12A, 1920 Bean 11.9hp, 1919 Singer Ten, and the 1880 Horse Drawn Hearse.

A 1948 Talbot-Lago T26 Record Cabriolet by Saoutchik went for €745,000 (£551,058.79).
  • Goodwood Nine Hour recreated at the Revival 29 Jul 2013 (News)
    This race into the dark will feature a collection of classic sports-racing cars in the spirit of the 1952 to 1955 Goodwood Nine Hour races, including some exceptional examples of the Jaguar C-type, Aston Martin DB3 and DB3S, Maserati A6G, Ferrari 750 Monza, Austin-Healey 100S, Cooper-Bristol, Cunningham C4R, Allard and HWM. Beginning at approximately 6.15pm on Friday 13 September, the Freddie March Memorial Trophy will continue into the twilight (with sunset due around 7.15 pm), with the cars running with their headlights ablaze until around 7.45pm.

    Silverstone to mark 70 years of Grand Prix heritage 19 Jun 2018 (News)
    A collection of cars from the original race – including ERA, Talbot Lago and Maserati racers driven by the likes of Lord Selsden, Raymond Mays and Peter Walker in 1948 – will be on display as well as being fired up a track parade on Saturday afternoon. Event director Nick Wigley said, ‘Under the leadership of the legendary Jimmy Brown, a rundown aerodrome was transformed into an international race circuit in little more than 10 hectic weeks, laying the foundations to what is now one of the most hallowed rounds on the Formula One calendar.’ Tickets for the Silverstone Classic need to be booked in advance.
