  • Seat Ibiza - Seat Ibiza stone chips 11 Jun 2014 (Forum)
I bought a brand new Seat Ibiza in January this year and have covered 8000 miles. There are a few small stone chips on the bonnet and a bigger one on the front drivers side door. Is this make and model of car prone to stone chips in general or is there a quality issue with the paint?
  • Mazda 626 - headlights 14 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Hi, Reading all the forum pages about headlights, Xenon etc., I wonder if there is a schedule of cars that can easily have replacement bulbs fitted.  The bulbs on my Mazda 626 can be changed in seconds.....lift the bonnet, unclip the protective cover at the rear of the lights, swap bulbs, job done.

  • Drivethedeal.Com 22 Feb 2009 (Forum)
What worries me is they don't seem to do Part-Ex and I don't want the hassle of having to sell my old car privately, plus the fact I would have to find another £4k to cover the purchase until I sold my old one. Their website has no email address which is a bit worrying.
  • Reliant Scimitar (2008 - ) - 1979 3.0 SE6A electric windows 14 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Does anybody out there remember the location of the fuse or fuses for the electric windows of my 1979 Scimitar SE6A ?? They worked off and on when I bought the car for restoration, but have now packed in. The official wiring diagram shows that an inline fuse covers them, but not where it is located. HELP please!
  • 2 million uninsured drivers ! - What can be done? 15 Aug 2007 (Forum)
It is cheaper to pay the fine after being caught than the insurance premium for many. That's 1 in 15 cars you see every day without cover! what would you do to redress this? Subject line tweaked to reflect discussion point - PU

  • Insurance company recommendation? 10 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Afternoon all SWMBO is currently insured with Tesco, fully comprehensive and is time for renewal. Problem is her current possibly does not allow her third party cover to drive other cars due to age restrictions (she is 21). Does anyone know a company that will allow her to do that is she has fully comp insurance and as a sidenote has a pretty competitive excess rate?
  • Volkswagen Golf V (2004 - 2008) - claiming for car damage 6 Nov 2007 (Forum)

  • Kia Sorento - Selling - good experience with Cazoo 1 Oct 2021 (Forum)
Strangely they also offered £19,100 if it was in average condition.  Deduct £50 if you want them to pick it up. They sent a covered truck to collect it.  The driver rated the car as 'good', and the money was in my account before the truck left our road. All in all, very pleased.
  • Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2.2 TDCi-Smokes when accelerating/economy not good 31 Oct 2007 (Forum)
My 2.2 TDCi Titanium estate had to have a new engine, turbo, catalytic converter, oil cooler etc in August, after the turbo allowed sump oil into the combustion chambers. The car was ten months old and had covered just 17,500 miles. If I had to pay the bill, it would have been £7,800.00. This new engine runs much better than the last, however since I got it back it produces loads of exhaust smoke under hard acceleration and I struggle to get more than 35 mpg, even though most of my motoring is on an autoroute/motorway at sensible speeds.
  • stolen caravan 12 Dec 2006 (Forum)
It was an ebay sale, he paid around £6k cash, forgot to get a receipt. When he got it home, he rang his insurance co to get it covered and they told him it's stolen. He's seeing the police tonight. We've suggested he get onto is home or car insurance co to see whether they can pursue a claim for him using his legal protection cover.
  • Picasso HDI Clutch Slip 20 Dec 2004 (Forum)
In all my years of driving and many '000's of company car miles I've never had a clutch. I can't go to a 3rd party for a clutch as it wouldn't be covered on warranty. I'm being held to ransom surely. Anybody had a similar experience?

  • 2008 BMW 520d Touring Manual - BMW E61 manual gearbox oil seal leaks 27 Sep 2013 (Forum)
The main output shaft and selector shaft oil seals have been leaking and have been replaced by the main dealer. The car has covered 61,500 miles and has full BMW service history. This seems a very short life for the seals. Am I being unreasonable to expect much longer life in a quality car?
