  • Audi A3 - Oil in Coolant Reservoir 2 Nov 2011 (Forum)
I checked the coolant reservoir and it is full of oil. The oil is black. Any ideas what the problem is? I've noticed no other driving issues (e.g. lack of turbo etc...) I hope it isn't something expensive but looking at forums on the net could well be a head gasket problem? Thanks, D
  • VW polo - Disqulaification or revocation as new driver 26 Oct 2011 (Forum)
My son has had a NIP for speeding in a temp speed limit on the motorway, which may mean 6 points or up to 56 days disqualification. As he is 181/2 and only driving 15 months, the 6 points mean licence is revoked. Does anyone know which would be worse for his insurance? I know it will be horrible either way, but wondered if any difference?

  • Why no regular motoring programme on BBC? 11 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Most people in this country own and drive cars or other vehicles.  And yet the BBC doesn't have a proper motoring programme.  Many years ago there used to be such a programme, it was called Top Gear.  It's true there is still a programme called 'Top Gear' now, but I think that's something different, a sort of re-make of Last of the Summer Wine for a target audience of 11 year-old boys, from what I've seen of it.

It happens a lot when the car has just started but also happens a couple of times a week while driving. We did have the egr valve cleaned out about 6 months ago as it was bunged up. Many thanks
  • Do we need wider roads? 20 Jun 2011 (Forum)
I think we do and the problem will become worse as vehicles seem to be growing in size with each new model released,a lot of drivers find it difficult to stay on their side of the line on a narrow country lane as i frequently find out taking evasive action to avoid a kamikaze attempt on me,bad driving is another thing altogether but the lack of width especially with larger vehicles on a lot of roads old and new does not help the situation.
