New golf - Poor engine 21 Oct 2012 (Forum)
I've sold a few of those and although they are a popular seller ,I always found them to be a nasty little car to drive ,with a poor reliability record . I remember one where the timing chain slipped a notch and threw the timing out .Very expensive to repair. -
Toyota RAV4 - Automatic troubles, slipping, bumping and no creep 27 Sep 2012 (Forum)
My Rav4 (2002) automatic is giving troubles intermttently. It may have no creep on level ground when drive is selected, or it is reluctant to change from 1 to 2 without slipping as if in neutral and then may change with a bump. Another event is up a muddy lane it may slow down with the engine labouring but may go OK after stopping and reselecting D or L. -

porsche - tyre repair aerosol foam 17 Aug 2012 (Forum)
If I were to get one it would be to tour some remote(ish) areas of Europe and Porsche tyres may not be readily available where a punture may occur. HOW FAR can one safely drive on a tyre repaired with foam and at what speed ( I assume no more than 50mph). I could then get to a major town that may be able to source one. -
Ford S-MAX - Throttle Hang Up 17 Aug 2012 (Forum)
After the latest of 4 visits to the dealers I am told this is a characteristic of this particular engine and is to protect the dual fly wheel from failing - surely in a £32,000 car it should be a pleasure to drive? -
Focus ST 17 Jun 2012 (Forum)
Just read the review of the new Ford Focus ST: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/ford/ford-focus-st-2012/ What a smart plan to make an estate version! If I had a bunch of children/dogs/stuff to put in a car but wished to keep 'driving' instead of 'transporting', it'd be a great bet if cars like the BMW Tourings were out of my price range. Also hopefully this means that the existing ST will start to drop in price in the used market (it's on my list...) -

Ford Focus 1.8 LX 2003 - Ford Focus - central locking / speakers electrics 28 Apr 2012 (Forum)
I have started to notice the central locking mechanism clicking when I am driving longer distances and if locking the driver’s side door this will be unlocked in the morning - this tends to be on cold days.. Also the speakers are not working despite a relatively new radio correctly wired and with working facia is this electrical fault all linked? -

2007 bmw 320 diesel - Sudden excessive fuel consumption 15 Jan 2012 (Forum)
My bmw 320d was unused for a month whilst I was recovering from surgery. Since starting to use it again the average fuel consumption over my typical mix of driving has increased by 10mpg from the figure it has been over the last 4 years. I've checked for binding brakes, no problems there and the performance is unaffected. Any ideas on the cause of the increase in fuel consumption most welcome please. -
Brake lights on all the time 16 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Most off-putting as you approach as it makes you think there's a hazard/cutting up etc ahead. How can he have managed that?! Wiring may have gone awry but can you drive an automatic with the 'brake' still on? I reckoned it to be an auto C-class early 2000s. -
Citroen C3 - air leaking into diesel lines 10 Nov 2011 (Forum)
my car sometimes stops whilr driving along normally and would ot restart.few hours later or next morning car starts normally.had a good look at the engine and disconnected and reconnected all the diesel lines.i suspect there was a leak in the fuel feed line, which works by sucking fuel from tank(there is no pump in the tank) and removing and refitting the lines fixed the problem.is there a kit to change the orings in the quick release fuel line connectors? -
seat arosa 1.4 S reg (98) - loss of power first thing 4 Nov 2011 (Forum)
Hello, my friends seat is acting really wierd first thing in the morning, after a short drive if she tries to accelerate the car, even with the pedal to the floor nothing happens, no acceleration-nothing. once the car achieves full working temp its ok. This happens only in the mornings, it can be left all day and start and work fine!!
