RHD Opel - can they be imported? 28 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I know rhd Opels can be imported from Ireland but the 3.0CDTi isn't available there. Which other countries drive on the left other than UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand? -
Juddering Windscreen Wiper Blades 25 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I even fitted new Honda wiper blades, but still they judder noisily across the screen. It was the same with my last car - a Vauxhall Cavalier. And yet, when I drive hire cars, which I do sometimes, their wipers always seem to be smooth and silent. -
White van man safety bubble. 23 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I have never driven with an automatic sfety bubble around my vehicle. It might have been caused my driving "style" but all cars gave me a wide berth. Other white van men were no trouble to me at all. Oh well back to being tailgated etc. tomorrow and dreaming of an automatic safety bubble. -
Honda Jazz - Intermittant Rear Wiper? 20 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Honda's Jazz (unless you buy the 'Sport' model) comes with a continuously operating rear wiper, which drives me *bonkers*. Years ago I was able to buy an intermittant kit to fit to a Capri (I did say it was years ago!) - does anyone of such kits are still available? I was hoping if it was a matter of just popping in a relay but the dealer sucked through their teeth and said it's much more involved than that. -
VW chief in surprise resignation 8 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Mr Pischetsrieder's decision to resign comes as Europe's biggest carmaker is in undergoing a tough restructuring drive that involves 20,000 job losses. full details http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6126960.stm ------------------------------ T our V an M an TM < Ex RF > -
Mercedes W140 (S320L) 24 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Does anyone know how to fix? Is there a sequence of reset to follow? NB: Car also has a habit of cutting out whilst driving. Happens at all speeds, all the dash lights come on, then engine cuts back in before you have stopped, very weird and quite un-nerving! -
Suzuki X90 - thoughts? 17 Oct 2006 (Forum)
OK, I know it looks odd but mechanically etc what are they like to own/drive? Parents have seen one and have really taken to it. It is the 4wd auto version. Only concern I have is its low mileage. Only 26000 in nearly 10 years - bad sign or just a local town car? Up at £3000 too which I think is a bit pricey but suspect dealer will quote 'low mileage' as the reason. -
Hit some motorway debris :-( 11 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Its probably been battered off the motorway anyway. Also when in busy motorway traffic doing 70mph and driving reasonably (2 secs apart) how can I avoid this type of thing in future? (without doing 50mph and leaving half a mile to the car in front) -
2007 Car of the Year 10 Oct 2006 (Forum)
As much as I would like to say Civic I think the S max should win it for combining practicality and driving experience. -
Future of Pass Plus 9 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Whilst flicking through the DSA magazine (dad gets it being a driving instructor) I noticed that the success or not of Pass Plus is currently being questioned. One incentive for new drivers to take the test is the possibility of securing lower insurance rates, but research is finding that Pass Plus drivers have just as many 'own fault' insurance claims as non Pass Plus drivers. -
Imported Cars from America 29 Sep 2006 (Forum)
I am looking to view some imported cars from America (i.e. left hand drive) or japanese imports. I am in london and have heard that there are suppliers here where I can view a collection of these vehicles. Can anyone in the know point me in the right direction? I have tried the standard google search but have found very limited information. -

Missing Vehicle Licence disc 16 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Employee tasked with putting new disc in car managed to lose it . I looked on the DVLA site which shows that the tax was renewed but is it legal to drive the car whilst waiting for a new disc to come through from head office. I do not fancy getting fined etc for failing to display tax disc. Does anyone know the position on this? -
Corsa knocking roll bar 14 Sep 2006 (Forum)
My wife has a 54 reg low mileage corsa, it's had a knocking (when driving over rough surface or drains etc), coming up from the front nearside ever since we picked it up. Taken it back under warranty, they can't find the problem. I've had the wheels and calipers off and isolated the knocking to the Anti-roll bar but can't find anything obvious going on. -
Hiring Sat Nav 9 Sep 2006 (Forum)
My wife has to take her parents to London next weekend for a funeral on the Monday, including some driving round the Croydon area, before returning on Tuesday, possibly through London itself. We were looking at the various web companies offering sat-nav hire. Anybody used any that they could recommend, the Tom-Tom system seems the most common - is it reliable for that sort of use? -
Droning sound Mk3 Golf Diesel estate 22 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Hi all, I had a new Cat Converter installed a month ago....recently whilst driving I'm getting a droning sound coming from under the car, not speed related but around 2000rpm...could it be a badly re-assembled exhaust system once the cat's been installed (the cat is right in the centre of the car). -
Dull Punto Mk1 Headlights 22 Aug 2006 (Forum)
They have been fitted with uprated bulbs by boyfriend but they are still pertty hopeless. She tends to drive on full beam. Taking them apart the reflectors do not look overly dull and the glass is not dull or marked. A new seat would be hideously expensive but the danger of getting s/h ones from a breakers is no telling if they will be ok ,bearing in the mind the current ones appear to be fine. -
Child Seat Reminder 8 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Just a reminder to anyone that drives with Children in the car. The law changes in Spetember (18th I think) and will state that the child MUST be carried ONLY in the appropriate car seat. I think it used to say "appropriate car seat if available" previously so it looks like they are tightening up. -
VW LT35 Timing Belt Tensioner 7 Aug 2006 (Forum)
My OH drives an R reg LT35. Twice now in 18 months the pin on the timing belt tensioner/backing plate has failed causing pretty major damage to engine. How do I go about finding out if there is a manufacturing fault responsible for this? -
Ford escort 1.8TD Died on me 7 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Hi All Just wondering if this problem has happened to anyone else. Driving up the A1 Sunday at about 70mph the engine suddenly died on me. All other electrics are fine but now the engine will not crank and the immobiliser light flashes on the dashboard when the key is turned.
