  I am repairing the brakes on my sons Citroen AX Dimention. How do i remove the pins which secure the brake pads in? I have coated them with WD40 and left overnight. Also i have tried to heat up the pins, although had to stop when the rubber boot around the Caliper piston caught fire.

  Is it just me or does the new Jaguar XJ look highly reminiscent of a Citroen C6? I've always been a massive fan of the XJ in all it's incarnations (even including the much criticised XJ40) and although I realise there needs to be a dramatic change from the current shape which isn't that far removed from the 1968 original, I cannot help thinking the new model lacks the "want one now" factor.

  I've been offered an imaculate C5 which has a small oil leak from the oil cooler next to the radiator. The cooler is covered in dirty thick residue. The oil cooler looks factory fitted but Citroen say it does not have one as standard. I can't see the pipes to and from it so I cant tell if it is transmission or engine. Any advice about this? I thoght it might be a transmission cooler but the car has no tow bar.

  Whats the road tax on the 300d? Too polite to drive a BMW audi ride tioo harsh Vw's not as reliable as citroens in my experience I don't mind driving an old car Thanks

  Hi there, I'm hoping somebody can help. We've had our V Reg Citroen Xsara for about 6 months, and over the last few months we've been having problems with over-choking. Basically, on occasion it can over-choke so it revs between 3000 and 4000 rpm when idling. When driving these can drop away and then kick back in sporadically, causing you to bunny-hop.

  i have a citroen xsara 90hp hdi estate and between 2000 and 3000 rpm under load the car ticks. I thought it may be the crankshaft pulley bu last week i did a full major service which included new cambelt, water pump, cambelt pulleys and crankshaft balancer pulley and the noise is still there the noise completely dissapears when you gat to 3000 rpm like turning of a switch does anyone have any ideas what the noise could be?

  right i have got a citroen saxo 1.1 p reg and the problem is the brake pedal travel is too excessive i have replaced the master cylinder and bled the brakes until no more air comes out from any of the system i did this by starting at the furthest point away from the master cylinder but still excess travel i got in the car and tried pumping up the brakes with the engine switched both on and off and they will not pump up anymore at all please can someone give me some ideas otherwise a rag in the tank seems the only action lol

  Our 54 reg Citroen C3 SX has on three occasions in the last five days unlocked itself. First time I thought it was me, but the next two times we definitely locked it and it was definitely unlocked when we came back to it.

  The display on my Picasso has poor brightness and when the car has been running for 15 minutes, dims to an unreadable level. My local Citroen dealer quoted £1000 plus to change the dash after previously telling me that the light bulbs need changing. I had already changed the bulbs myself a year ago to no avail.   I have a 92 citroen ax, i accidentally ran the battery flat today, figureing i\'d get help and jump start it later i locked it and left it. when i returned later the central locking was dead. I have no key lock on the boot, only the front and passenger doors.

  I'm thinking of buying a Citroen CX GTi, maybe a turbo or turbo2. I'm familiar with CX's but not the GTi or turbo models. Is there anything extra I should look out for other than the usual checks? Any CX gurus out there? I realise I must have tendancy to masochism, especially as I'm not keen on sorting electrical problems, but once you have driven one of these cars just about everything else feels agricultural.

  I have been advised that there is a possible problem with the non turbo 16valve 2.0litre engine..if unmodified.due to poorly designed pistons.Can you tell me if this problem was fixed by Citroen under warranty recall? I am interested in purchasing a 1994m MK11 with 80000miles on the clock with FSH. Would this be a safe bet,or are these cars particularly troublesome. PS The car is a 5 speed manual.
