Replacing 2002 Mondeo - Still Looking 24 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Though at the price for a 2012 car? Any issues to worry about with a 2.0 TDCi if I find a good one? I also test drove a 2011 old shape Focus. A 1.8 zetec. I had expected it to be nippy as it had the same 1.8 engine as my old Mondeo in a smaller car. -

Car decisions - can't get past the warranty 8 Feb 2012 (Forum)
Now what am struggling to get past at the moment is the Kia Ceed and the warranty. I can get a (diesel) Ceed for £10k easy, probably a year old with hardly 5 figures on the mileometer... but the cheery on the cake is it will still have 6 years warranty to cover it.... We also love the Insignia, Astra, 1-series and a few others but similar spec cars to the ceed would be at least 3 years old and out of warranty... if I understand correctly, the Vauxhall warranty is not transferrable at all so unless buying from (overpriced) Network Q then we only get the sale of goods act to rely on... -

Mazda MPV (2000 - 2007) - 53 plate Mazda MPV - keep or replace? 26 Sep 2009 (Forum)
I guess my budget would be between £10-£12k on top of what I could get for my current car and I'd be intending to buy something 6 months to a year old. My initial instinct is to avoid anything French but I'm no car expert so has anyone got any suggestions? Cheers!! -
Front coil springs snapped - Fast fit centre? 1 Jul 2009 (Forum)
I have checked the front shock absorbers and they are not leaking so if oil appears tomorrow I shall go mad. The front pads are also 200 miles old so if they comment on that I shall go mad, my discs are old but perfectly smooth, not warped and still got some thickness in them (they will probably need replacing within the next two years). My main concern is they do something to make my car worse (e.g make a mistake like fitting the coils upside down) and then there will be no notice to get the car right before Friday when I need it for the holiday. -

Broken down cars on the Hard Shoulder. 27 Dec 2007 (Forum)
passed a fiat sissyentro on the m1 today 300 yard before a service station on the hard shoulder, two people stood by the car,man near fencing safely, girl at back of nearside rear corner light not watching traffic but ringing the services on her blue screen mobile,i passed her in my recovery truck and at one time would have pulled up to offer assistance(i wouldnt now as i would probably be classed as some old perv) i hate to see people oblivious to fast moving traffic especially these days as i see so many people driving and texting ( my step daughters ex boyfriends best mate died while doing this so its a bit near the heart) anyway i passed and had to call into the services for an old mans needs, anyway i was in the truck having a coffee when said veeicle pulled in next to me closely followed by the 4th emergancy services,i spoke to the female about her use of the phone on the hard shoulder and how she could have been killed, she said it wont me want me i woz on the grass wont me,i explained again that she could have been my daughter and i was just trying to protect her life next time round, the 4th service provider said to me ,"youve made your point mate ,ive told her the same because i saw her too i drove on steaming..... would i ever tell anyone again in the same situation?............ -
Don't judge a..... 27 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Further to recent conversations, just explaining my way of thinking really, and something that set it off. On discussing whether old or young drivers are the worst, my train of thought was how awful it is to generalise, and to put people in little boxes Young - all boy racers with no manners (not true) Elderly - all doddering (with no manners or thought for anyone else either) - not true You never know, one of those old geezers could be a former racing driver (even I know it's not all formula 1)etc. etc
