  • Ford Fusion hire car 28 Aug 2007 (Forum)
Loads of room in the boot and for a 1.4 diesel reasonable performance. The interior was very functional and the switchgear simple to use. The driving position is higher than a normal saloon which I quite liked.
  • Undertaking on Motorways 18 Jul 2007 (Forum)
It just seems daft, when Motorways are at capacity much of the time, to have an inside lane nearly empty, and for the overtaking lane to be full, just because someone wants to drive in the middle lane at 60.
  • Meriva 1.7CDTI Cam belt replacement 25 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I always get the spotty youth in the dealerships, who assures me its 10 years or 80000 miles. Sounds to be pushing it a bit that, any advice ? Also, what does the belt drive on this car ? The Power steering is electric, and the car is fitted with A/C.

  • AX gear selection 8 Apr 2007 (Forum)
My daughter's Citroen AX has just developed a huuuuge amount of side-to-side play at the gearlever. Push forward for third and pull back for reverse. Driving it is very simple, if a little hard on the clutch. Any views on what I might find tomorrow? I'm guessing a selector rod in the linkage has dropped off. What do you think? Can anyone confirm that the oil filter is located in the N/S wing and if the sump plug is a straightforward socket job or a hex and if so what size?

  • Tv in car 18 Jan 2007 (Forum)
OK you might think, except they are a pair, so there's one for the driver's side. Scary thought, do you think there are people out there who find driving so boring they are watching TV as they cruise up behind you on the motorway?

  • 'What's torque?' 9 Nov 2006 (Forum)
asks James May in yesterday's Telegraph, and then proceeds to describe shearing off the top of a 10mm bolt whilst doing it up... using a two foot long bar. Fool! To think that there are people driving around with incorrectly torqued bolts - he could as easily have under-tightened it, and watched as it came undone whilst he was riding it. He clearly still doesn't understand torque from the rest of his article.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/5315890.stm Fuel bills drive up motoring cost. Higher fuel prices mean the cost of keeping a car on the road rose by 7.2% in the past year, research suggests. Some additional details added, so people have half a clue as to what your post is referin to before clicking on the link.

  • Which small diesel? 31 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Like the look of the Citroen C3 and Skoda Fabia, need something that fits a 6'3 tall driver, nice to drive and comfortable. Long term reliability is important as I will probably buy used 3 to 4 years old and keep to high mileage. Any suggestions, owners comments will be much appreciated.
  • Dent repairs 18 Jun 2006 (Forum)
We've a shared drive and for the first time in 16 years our neighbour just rubbed against the front bumber of my wife's Focus whilst backing down. Too small for a garage/insurance job but I think too deep to T-cut out.
  • small diesels - actual fuel consumption 3 May 2006 (Forum)
Not wanting to take manufacturers figures at face value, I was was wondering what actual fuel consumption the new small 1.3/1.4/1.5 diesels are returning, also under what driving conditions. I'm thinking of Yaris, C2, Micra, Clio, etc, etc. (I note some comments re. Clio in the forum at the moment.) Thanks. Joe
