Seat Leon FR - Seat Leon FR DPF Reoccurring problem 12 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Now I'm no expert, but our Seat needed the DPF to be replaced as it was full and couldn't be regenerated. Nearly £1000 later, new DPF, the light came on again, managed to clear it out using the usual advice. Few days later, light on again and into limp mode. -
Peugeot 307 - DPF Removal 24 Apr 2011 (Forum)
Due to test driving in the snow we didnt notice that the car was down on power (wont make that mistake again!) Anyway I invested in a diagnostic and replaced the MAF and cleaned the DPF filter. However as I work in town and have a 40 min drive though town 2-3 times a week the DPF isnt getting much chance to regen and is slowing my car down again. I'm thinking about just getting rid of the stupid DPF filter and solving all my problems. -
Mazda 6 2.2d - mazda 6 2.2d dpf regeneration time and distance 27 Feb 2013 (Forum)
Hi, how long does it take for a mazda 6 2.2diesel to regenerate the dpf. I do 22 miles a day to and bck from work, mostly around town. In total i do about 140miles a week. Will this be enough to keep the DPF issue at bay. I really do like the Mazda 2.2d 2009, and i am thinking of buying one with 68k on the clock. -
Ford S-Max - Do all 2.0 TDCi S-Max's have a DPF 23 Jan 2025 (Forum)
In the market for a 2006-2008 S-Max 2.0 TDCi, my mileage/journeys justifies a diesel and I know the Ford DPFs are no too troublesome, but I would still prefer to avoid a DPF car if the choice is there, anyone have any definitive idea of which ones do/don't? -
FIAT Doblo - My dpf has been removed will it cause any damage? 14 Sep 2014 (Forum)
I've just bought an 07 1.9d family doblo. When pulling away sometimes it seems a bit juddery in 1st or 2nd. The seller says the dpf has been removed so are the 2 linked? Also will it cause any damage having no dpf? Any thoughts appreciated Cheers -

Hi, Has anyone had the DPF removed from their car, if so where did they get it done, how much did it cost and what do they think of the conversion. Thanks -
Ford Focus '56 TDCi 1.6 - Focus 1.6 TDCi DPF issue / post turbo replacement 20 Jul 2011 (Forum)
I have mentioned to him that I have read (on here amongst other places) that the Eloys fluid may need replenishing to allow the DPF to regenerate, he's going to look into that. I'm just wondering if the DPF could be screwed due to the amount of oil that has gone through the exhaust? If this is the case then would the easist option be to replace the DPF? -
Vauxhall Insignia 2009 2.0 diesel - Insignia DPF Fault Dpf light on 1 Oct 2012 (Forum)

Land Rover Freelander 2, 2.2TDI HSE 09-Reg - Freelander 2 - Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) 21 Feb 2011 (Forum)
When test driving a 2009 Freelander diesel, the dealer assured me that this age of Freelander (registered March 2009) did not have a DPF and that they were only fitted to more recent versions. Is this true, and if so, when were DPFs introduced on the Freelander, and how can I know for sure whether a car I consider has one or not ? I assume that without a DPF, the concerns about too many short journeys in a diesel car disappear ? -
Ford Mondeo IV (2007 - ) - New Mondeo diesel -- DPF regeneration 2 Feb 2008 (Forum)
I've got a new Mondeo 2.0 TDCi coming soon, according to the brochure it has a DPF. Does anyone with one of these, or a related car, have any tips on DPF regen? I know it should do it under "normal" driving conditions, but I've seen a few horror stories from the VAG forums about the PD170 diesel motors having big DPF issues, and going into limp-home mode. -
Volvo V50 1.6D (Not DRive) (2008 Model Year) - DPF (again!) 29 Jan 2012 (Forum)
The DPF replacement cost is apparently "around €500". So, at around 120k, the servicing bill looks like DPF €600, Eolys top-up €120 plus routine service €175, total €895. Curiously, Mr Volvo has never made mention of these (DPF replacement and Eolys top-up) lofty costs in his sales blurb on the vehicle. -
Peugeot 607 - Peugeot 607 failed MOT because of no DPF! 27 Jul 2023 (Forum)
I thought to go to Peugeot dealer ask for advice. The dealer man said that is sure the car year doesn't have DPF as standard. He said he will ask one of his mechanical to look under the fuel tank to see if there is elyon tank (I don't know what this is) he confirmed this car doesn't have DPF. Do I find info like on my V5 or Tax check online for to see if my is register to have DPF? -
BMW 5 Series F10 - BMW 520d DPF issue 15 Apr 2018 (Forum)
Ran a cleaner programme and forced regeneration but the regen did not work. I like the car to drive, but concerned that the dpf issue will become a bigger problem. Ran the car to Newcastle from Sussex last week, but no improvement in mpg. Is there an option to replace the DPF or is it better to sell and find a replacement? -
peugeot and citroen - DPF issues 3 Jan 2014 (Forum)
I've been reading various horror stories about dpf issues. I had never even heard of dpf until a few months ago. For years now I have had diesel cars becauseI need a decent size practical car for the family and to keep my income tax down on my company cars. -
any - DPF removal Part of the MOt Feb 14 12 Dec 2013 (Forum)
I have always found it very easy to spot a de-catted diesel. For those that suddenly find themselves needing a DPF may also find it expensive when they dont have a complete unit to exchange ! The above applies to those cars where a DPf was fitted from new and since removed Oh and the fines now run into a heathly 4 figures + for vehicles caught with DPf's removed and a prosecution follows -
Mazda 5 - Mazda DPF oil return to sump 8 Jan 2012 (Forum)
I have a Mazda 5 which has a DPF on it. I understand that during the regen process diesel is added to the DPF filter and this assists with the process. Should the engine be switched off mid way through the process it dumps the diesel into the oil sump. -
Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 05 1.6 DPF failure 24 Apr 2009 (Forum)
m assuming that the DPF is located as part of the exhaust system. Is it possible to fit a non DPF exhaust to the car to get it running again for less than it costs to replace the DPF? Any help would be most appreciated. -
captiva - DPF, DMF,Oil warning just out of warranty 8 Aug 2012 (Forum)
Sold my captiva, after warnings for dpf, dmf, when warning light came on, given the cost of servicing and the prices for a dpf, a cltch kit and flywheel, and labour charges, now out of warranty. -
Reliable DPFs and EGRs 23 Jan 2019 (Forum)
1) Is there a car manufacturer that has built up a deserved reputation for engineering a DPF system that simply works properly and is never a concern? 2) Same question regards EGR valves (on diesel engines) 3) Is it true that even if a car has a DPF system that satisfies Question 1, the DPF will inevitably eventually fill up with ash anyway, and will therefore need to be removed and cleaned or replaced?
