Hi there, my name is Jason, Im going to tell you the exact problem you are having with your DPF light and the reasons it is happening!
The DPF on the Mazda6 is a very bad design and there is only 2 ways of dealing with it.
The first is to go to a Mazda dealer and let them sort it, but there is just one thing, it will cost you about £3000 to do.
The reason for this is because all the sensors that are attatched to the DPF are fused on there for removal of these is impossible. They also are main dealer parts only and will set you back £300 each! But you will also need a new DPF to attatch them to and this is alot of money to. There are about 4 sensors all together.
The ECU is programmed to regenerate the DPF about every 300 miles and what this meens is the ECU will tell the engine to inject diesel in to an open exaust manifold in order to heat up the blocked DPF to 600 degrees and burn the soot and send it out of the back box.
This does not happen as it should with a blocked DPF and sends the diesel in to the oil and thus giving you a very high reding of oil on your dipstick. Then comes the DPF light on and eventually puts the car s engine management light on and now your car is in limp mode, (loss of power).
What you need to do!
I researched alot on this and found alot of forums with different ideas of what the solution is and i can tell you from expierience that none of them know what they are talking about.
You will need to find a DPF removal specialist, i used xxxx (no free adverts allowed). What they do is remove the exaust system and remove the DPF.
Remove the heat shield and cut a window in the top of the DPF and remove all of the internal filters which cause the problems u are having, weld the window of steel back on to the DPF housins and then fix back to your car.
Then they Remap the ECU and reset the disco lights on your dash.
This cost £400 and i have had my Mazda done and it is 100%. This is the only way you will sort the problem and not by buying fuel addatives to clean the DPF it does NOT work.
Hope this helps Jason.
PS Do not let any garage talk you in to having the DPF removed and having a piece of pipe in its place THIS will fail the mot as the DPF has to be visual to an mot inspector it is part of the emmisions set up, make sure if you have this done that only the filters are being removed from the DPF and then the DPF is fitted back to your car. VERY IMPORTANT
