  Have been offered a 54 Almera 1.5 S, with 54k on the clock, FSH for £2k, is this a good price? Am seriously considering getting rid of the Pug 307 due to all the problems I keep getting. Any idea on what I could get for a 2003 52 plate 307 with 42k, FSH, 2.0 HDI 90 Rapier spec, climate control, alloys, pearlescent paint etc, good condition, years MOT, 6months tax.

  As from friday my cars been playing up, when i go to lock it with the remote the courtesy lights flicker and doesnt lock, when i go to lock the car via the door it still wont lock all doors, just locks the drivers side. Also now because of this problem my cars dash is like a disco every now and then when i brake :S. any ideas please?

  The bit that especially interested me was "The 2.5SL came on 18 inch alloys with 225/45 tyres, so naturally bump-thumped over sharp ridges and potholes, but the 215/50 R17s on the 1.8TS2 were fine and I guess the 205/60 R16s on the S and TS would be best of the lot." That led me to wonder . . . if there was an option of 15 inch wheels, would they be better still?

  Once a routine part of any mechanics day,this old stalwart has made a recent re-appearance in my Audi 80 (1992). It`s a Mono-Motronic system I think and I`m at a loss to discover why the sudden onslaught of crown burning pinking. Should I start by cleaning the Crank Position sensor.....or would the FI unit itself be at fault,,?

  MW and LW work fine, but switch to FM and the preset stations will work for about 20 seconds and then lose tune, then if you scan it goes right round the dial until finally returning ?Not Found? in the display I have unscrewed the aerial and replaced but to no avail. It?s the Ford 6000 unit Any ideas?

  I have just picked up my S reg Astra from the garage after requiring 4 new tyres to pass the MOT. The garage have replaced the original Conti's with some brand called "Cheng Shan". While they were considerably cheaper than a premium brand, i wonder if this is a big trade off with quality and safety.

  have a 1999 Nissan Terrano 2 2.7 turbo diesel with an unusual problem - lately I have had trouble starting it when its hot, sometimes it wont start at all - leave it 20 mins or so and eventually it will fire up. starts normally from cold in a morning and once started it runs perfectly. just wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar or has any idea of what could be wrong.   The clutch pedal needs to be planted very firmly on the floor otherwise gear selection is nearly impossible. Does anyone know if the clutch can be adjusted on this model? Thanks, Mark s

  The needle comes up quicky to 90degrees (right on the light) then............. it hovers between going over it sometimes so the whole needle is past the light. sometimes it will stay there others not but most of the time will be over the light. should i be concerned, and if so what shall i do????   It's only done 14,500 miles, but that's a different issue... I rang a local tyre supplier, and asked about Conti premium contact 2's, as they've been recommended on here. The supplier said the contis were good, but Vredestein were better and cheaper. I'd never heard of the make before, but they're high rated by a leading car magazine.

  The tyres are budget (made in Poland) and are at the recommended 32psi front and 28 rear. The rear n/s wheel bearing has been replaced to no effect. Could it be the CVT joints? Tyres? or even the non-standard plastic wheel covers? All thoughts welcome Regards Brian

  tool room copy?? apparently. There are a lot of expensive Bugattis, Maseratis and Jaguars created in the 1980?s on the market. Seemingly accepted by the FIA and VSCC as being eligible for competition. We had a 1929 Bugatti Type 35 entered on our historic vehicle club run this year. It said Bugatti on the badges and the tax disc BUT a local expert was able to tell us, too late to refuse it, that it was built recently by an Argentine company ?

  Hi My 1998 1.4 petrol (distributorless ignition and injection) 106's head gasket went a while ago. Had the head skimmed and new gasket. Also replaced Lambda sensor, plugs and HT leads. Am now experiencing an uneven tickover, seems worse when engine is hot and I sometimes think it misses a little at slow speeds around town.

  Hi, I recently bought a 1998 996 Tiptronic S and sadly yesterday the ignition barrel has collapsed with they key remaining stuck inside. I tried several locksimths and then an idependent dealer who all pointed me in the direction of the main dealers.

  But this new version, only one rear passenger door and the two van-like doors at the rear? Surely the new Mini appeals to the type of buyer whao aspires to have a Cooper S or similar, not to someone who would want the practicality of two swing doors? Or will BMW produce this in limited numbers to try and make it a cult classic?
