Rovers Behind Book at Blackbushe 23 May 2001 (News)
The Rover 25 1.6L 5 door cars with metallic paint and sunroofs sold for £6,400 to £7,100; Rover 45 1.8 Classics sold for £7,800 to £8,250; Rover 45 2.0 TD IEs sold for £7,800 to £8,150; and Rover 75 2.5 KV6 Club automatics from £12,600 to £12,900. That put the 75s around £1,750 behind trade book and the petrol engined 45s and 25s around £600 behind trade book. 45 diesels, however were bang on trade book and a pair of 25,000 and 32,000 99T Land Rover Freelander 1.8XEIs were actually over book at £13,500 and £13,650 respectively. -

The fact that these were let loose under trade book shows the growing anxiety of fleet managers holding expensive cars that employees dont want to pay the benefit tax on from April next year. Finally, how would you price an 82,000 mile 90H, ten year old Toyota Previa automatic? The bidding started at £2,000 but it sold for £4,050. These vehicles are gold dust and this one was mobbed. Plenty of variety at March part-exchange auctions 7 Mar 2001 (News)
A 100,000 mile 96P Nissan 3.0 QX SE sold for £3,350, a 75,000 mile 95M Cavalier 2.0iGLS for £2,500 and a 59,000 mile 96N Fiesta Classic 1.1 for £2,300. Even a smart, metallic grey 90,000 mile 92K Mazda Xedos 6 SE automatic, one of the best looking saloons of all time, ran into the wall at a top bid of £1,900. And older Rovers seriously struggled. Top bid for a 58,000 mile 93L 420 GSi was £875 while £750 was all a 108,000 mile 94L 827Sli auto in Nightfire red could manage. -

If there was a bargain of the day, it had to be an 18,000 mile 2000W BMW 323CI automatic coupe which sold for £19,900 (compared to last weeks £21,400 for a similar car), but only because it came with no documentation of any kind. Top Money for Top Cars at BCA Blackbushe 5 Feb 2001 (News)
Well above book were a 55,000 mile 98S BMW 535i V8, sold for £19,600; a 48,000 mile 98S Mercedes C180 Sport automatic, sold for £13,400; a 30,000 mile 98S C180 Classic, sold for £11,900; and a 68,000 mile 97R BMW 323iSE, sold for £10,600. Bang on trade book (and bargains for the private buyer) were a 45,000 mile 97R BMW 318Ti Compact with fat alloys, sold for £8,650 and a 30,000 mile 98S Mercedes C180 Classic, sold for £11,900. -
Eighties supercars in demand at auction 13 Mar 2015 (News)
A left-hand drive 20,000-mile 1992 Ferrari 348tb Coupe made £38,500 and a right-hand drive 73,000-mile 1988 Ferrari 412 automatic fetched £23,650. Again, that’s significantly more than this once-unloved model would have made just a few months ago. Another model that has rocketed in value lately is the air-cooled Porsche 911, prices rising by 24% in 2013 and a further 32% in 2014 according to the HAGI Index. -
Volvo extends range of its EVs 17 Jul 2011 (News)
The 111 hp (80 kW) electric motor is supplemented with a three-cylinder petrol turbo engine producing 190 hp (140 kW), a two-stage automatic transmission and a 40 kW generator. Power from the combustion engine drives the front wheels via the gearbox and recharges the battery pack whenever needed. Up to 50 km/h, the car is always powered solely by electricity. -

The top of the range model will use the F-Types 380PS supercharged V6 while at the other end of the spectrum the 2.0-litre diesel will offer 180PS and low CO2 emissions (129g/km) and decent fuel economy (57.7mpg). -
Frankfurt Motor Show 2015: Production-ready Bentley Bentaya revealed 9 Sep 2015 (News)
The 6.0-litre W12 engine produces 608PS and a massive 900Nm of torque from 1250rpm. Drive is sent to the permanent four-wheel drive system via an eight-speed automatic transmission and performance is typically Bentley – 0-62mph takes 4.1 seconds and top speed is 187mph. CO2 emissions are 292g/km and economy is 22.1mpg. Bentley promises the Bentayga will be as capable off the road as on it. -
Five-star Volvo XC90 smashes the Euro NCAP test 3 Sep 2015 (News)
However, the new Mazda CX-3 only gained a four-star crash rating along with the Mitsubishi L200. This was because both cars lack standard automatic emergency braking – a feature that’s becoming increasingly common. The L200 doesn’t offer it at all, while according to Euro NCAP the Mazda has it on the options list but expects low take-up.
