Infiniti sold just 746 cars in the UK in 2014, representing a scant 0.02 per cent share of the UK market, although that was twice what it sold the year previous. But by entering the more popular family hatchback and crossover markets for the first time, Infiniti is expanding its appeal significantly.

It’s a two-owner car and is described by the vendor as ‘not the usual rubbish’. It’s a manual car and has been garaged all its life. It was with its first owner for 24 years, which suggests it has been well looked after.

    There's the odd blemish here and there, but it does look like there are some rust bubbles beginning around the wheel arches... and possibly the sills. It does have 12 months' MoT, though - not bad for a car under a grand.

  • First Lynx Eventer could make £30,000 at auction 2 Sep 2014 (News)
    The first production spec Lynx Eventer – one of just 67 made – was offered for sale at Silverstone Auctions’ Autumn Sale. In storage for the past 15 years, the car needed a full restoration. With 116,840 miles on the 5.3-litre V12 HE, the car came with a vast history file. Registered in 1982, 1 HOP (now wearing CYJ621Y) was used in Lynx’s marketing material and featured in the factory brochure as well as motoring magazines.
  • Range Rover number one to be auctioned at Salon Privé 22 Aug 2014 (News)
    When it was launched, the Range Rover created a whole new market sector, and this is a chance for someone to own the car that started it all – chassis number one. Originally planned as a post-war stopgap, buyers couldn’t wait to get their hands on Rover’s civilised off-roader. This car, built between 24 November and 17 December 1969, was registered on 2 January 1970 – nearly six months before the car officially went on sale.

  • Michael Schumacher's 1998 Ferrari F300 sells for £1.3m at auction 21 Jan 2014 (News)
    The Ferrari Formula 1 car that was driven by Michael Schumacher in the build up to the 1998 season has sold for $1.7m (£1.3m) at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottdale sale in Arizona.  The historic F300 powered Schumacher to six race wins and five additional podium places in 1998 as he finished runner up to championship winner Mika Häkkinen in the McLaren Mercedes.
  • Modern and classic on display at the Regent Street Motor Show 21 Oct 2013 (News)
    Classic and modern cars will be starring at the free-to-view Regent Street Motor Show on Saturday 2 November. As well of the London-Brighton starrung veteran cars, the Regent Street event will include current and future models from some of the world’s leading manufacturers.

    As we predicted last week , the top-selling car was a 1926 Sunbeam 3.0-Litre Super Sports 'Twin Cam' Tourer, which achieved a top-of-estimate £158,300. The Super Sports has enjoyed something of an interesting life, reflected in the interest shown in the car.

    Land Rover 's current global success iis great news for the British car industry, but for some, there’s still the nagging doubt of historic unreliability and build quality of its model range. According to Land Rover, this is now history – and the company’s performance in the 2013 JD Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study in the USA would seem to bear this out.
  • Austin 7s to gather at Beaulieu 7 May 2013 (News)
    The annual National Austin 7 Rally, organised by the 750 Motor Club, takes place on 7 July on the Beaulieu Estate in Hampshire. Hundreds of Britain's once-favourite small car will be heading for the iconic venue. People who attend the rally will also be able to access to Lord Montagu’s historic Palace House and Gardens and The National Motor Museum. Austin 7 owners are legendarily adventurous.
  • Peugeot 205 ticks past 338,000 miles 30 Apr 2013 (News)
    Sadly the owner,’ John Clive, passed away in December 2012. But rather than scrap the car John’s wife, Penny, has donated it to Eastleigh College for students to studying motor mechanics to maintain and work on. That’s good news, because Peugeot 205s are gradually disappearing from UK roads.
  • Ford launches 'killjoy' system for parents of young drivers 28 Oct 2011 (News)
    "Inexperienced drivers are typically the most at-risk drivers on the road, so the more we can do to encourage safe driving and limit distraction the better. With MyKey, parents can set limitations, while still allowing the freedom of driving a car." MyKey will be available from 2012 on the Ford Fiesta before being expanded to other car models.
