  Although a NIP should appear within 14 days of a Camera Speeding Offence, how long is it for a hand held speeding offence and the NIP falling through the letter box. Is there a time limit of this NIP as well. Regards Peter

  Do the caards on digital cameras deteriorate with age & use?. I often get a "not IPEG compatible message when I try to view the photo,also the photo is wiped. The photos are normal family photos or views of countryside or buildings.

    The Garmin Sat Nav is a godsend but understand these are banned in France where they have the speed camera alert activated.  Is it just a question of deactivating or can they not be used at all?  Help!

  This afternoon, in an emergency, I had to drive a vehicle with a S.O.R.N. I went past a standard "camera partnership" van parked in a lay-by. I was not speeding. Should I rush out first thing tommorrow to tax this vehicle?

  My wife has received an NIP, her car was caught speeding by a fixed gatso, we know the road and use it very often so we know the camera location hence are surprised to receive the NIP. However assuming it is correct in that an offence was committed (i.e. the camera calibration is not erroneous or someone local has not cloned her number plate) we have an issue - we cannot be totally sure who was driving at the time of the offence.

  An NIP will change their behaviour when they realise how much more their insurance will cost them and when they get close to losing their licence - it would chnage it more if the fines and penalty points were higher. I agree with what you say about cameras not catching the worst offenders, but some of the responsibility for that has to lie with the individuals concerned, and with those who encourage them. I saw a quote recently from a senior police officer (can't remember which area) that if things keep going the way they are, we will go back to hidden, mobile cameras that will be harder to detect or track.

  I was clocked for speeding but there was another vehicle between myself and the patrol car. I'm sure with the  state of th art cameras this is possible once your in view say on a bend, but is this correct police procedure?

  Otherwise I have no issue with the bus lane or the camera, I only want the ability to access my property safely. I would welcome any useful comments or suggestions (moving house isn?t an option). Is there some law which states that every individual has the right to access their property in a safe and secure manner (hope against hope!!!).

  Hi all, i bought the above unit , 3 years ago, so its outside of warranty. It was working fine with Iphone, but recently , the stock rear reverse camera, isnt being displayed on screen in dash, just the generic centered lines are visible! Its a pioneer unit, DAB, bluetooth, NAV, etc, but the rear camera feed is no longer showing! Its a small car, granted, but it doesnt have rear parking sensors, so 'she' can sometimes struggle parking the thing!

  I went past a strange camera tonight and unluckily for me i was probably doing about 10 or 12mph over the limit in a 50 after overtaking a tractor. I probably didnt slow back down in time. Anyway, the camera i have never seen before.
