Useless gadgets 15 Jul 2009 (Forum)
The in-car rubbish bin. My own list of shame ends with a dashboard mounted cassette rack (99p from Woollies) - revealing to all and sundry my own dubious taste in music ensured that my car was never broken into, and there I was thinking that it was the bright yellow gearlever/handbrake lock that kept my car safe... -
Windscreen Chip repair kits 9 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Guys, I have recently purchased a secondhand car due to being made redundant and having to give back my company car. I'm hopeful I will only have this car for 3-4 months max and then I'll get another job with a company car. Anyway, I was cleaning the car today and noticed a small chip in the windscreen, it's no more than 1 cm long and probably 1mm, maybe 2mm deep. -
02 Seat Leon Cupra 8 Oct 2004 (Forum)
I am wondering whether they are the original set and worn out, as the car runs ok except for the slightly lumpy idle when cold. It is just like i have experienced on other cars with worn out plugs or leads. Before i purchase a set of NGK plugs which will cost me £30 all in, i wish to inspect those in the car. -

Can we blame Motoring Org. for accident? 13 Dec 2005 (Forum)
The patrol that came, confirmed that was a problem and asked her to open the bonnet. He then asked her to put the car into Drive. She did and then got out of the car and he did some fiddling under the bonnet and the car started moving forwards as the parking brake (foot pedal type) was not on. The insurance claim is now all on MiL's cover for two cars and two damaged houses. -

Motoring in Tenerife 3 Dec 2006 (Forum)
We?ve just spent a week in Tenerife, we had a car for three - some of my experiences. First car we were in was a Merc W124 Estate taxi - V6 petrol. Nicely run in at just short of 500,000 km. Auto box sounded a bit clunky, but we covered the miles very quickly. -
Advice for fixing a dent and crack 12 Feb 2024 (Forum)
Hi, My Suzuki Swift has a dent and some cracks on the rear passenger side wheel arch. The repair quotes I got ranged from £400 to £1000, which is way too much for an old car like this. I want to cover up the dent and cracks as best as I can, just for my own satisfaction. I have taped it up to hide it, but it looks terrible and I hate looking at it. I have no idea how to fix the dent myself or take off the bumper. -
EV discussions 8 Oct 2023 (Forum)
An example might be if someone is looking to buy a new car and giving an account of test-driving several ICE and EV vehicles. Also the recent thread about the new FIAT 600e Moderators will use their discretion in situations like these. I will probably regret this as it's more work for moderators but if it works it might keep everyone happy. -

She has opted to go to court as she is claiming that the driver and his company misled her into believing that by using the trade plates everything was covered. She has had to pay to remove her truck from storage and get another company to drive it back to the Port. What does the law say in such an instance. Can 2 people be charged for the same offence, can she be said to have allowed the driver to drive her truck without insurance? -

Hyundai i10 mark II - i10 Rear Discs corroded 19 Mar 2020 (Forum)
Within the first two years the rear pads were binding and were sorted out under warranty. I took the car back in to have them checked later in the first two years noting the "achilles heal" comment about the i10, but I was too early & the garage advised the wheels weren't binding. Now at 2 1/2 years old it has badly corroded rear discs.
