  when i first start my car it runs fine without any problems, and i can drive it around for a while untill the choke knocks off then i have problems... if the cars already warm when approaching/sitting idle at a junction or lights etc it struggles to tick over and frequently cuts out, the engine starts to judder and struggle.

  The light comes on at the switch, but no heat. I noticed that the light will only come on with the engine running. Can anybody diagnose? Anybody know a part number and/or a rough price for a replacement relay. If it's cheap I could try one, but I don't know if that's the problem.

  We assumed it was a problem with the tyre and it has now been swapped for a matching Conti tyre, but we still have the noise. Suggestions please! I'm think about wheel bearing - could running a new tyre suddenly start it to get noisy?

  Hi, noticed corsa was loosing coolant the other day, checked it over found coolant running down front of block from head gasket. my question is are the head bolts reusable, and does the cam carrier have to come off, the head bolts seem to be on the outside of carrier. also does the water pump rotate to tension the cam belt or is there a seperate tensioner.

      I have a grey-import celica convertible that doesn't get used very often - just high days and holidays for a good long run to the coast or a anational trust proerpty or some other excursion .   Although the car itself is 100% reliable the battery is not liking the infrequent use and now struggles to hold any charge.

  I am in the running for a job in Coventry (Warwick uni), with my partner working in Birmingham (Uni of Birmingham). Since she doesn't drive we were consideringliving either north or south Birmingham (close to a station on the Lichfield - Longbridge line as my partner doesn't drive) and me driving in to Cov.

  My turbo has died  and I need to identify which turbo I need, the car is running  and I need it so I can't strip out the original. The car is year 2000 and it's a light pressure turbo, the top plate covering the plugs is red and the engine number is  B204EDM00Y037203.

  My headgasket went friday night ,car was running perfect  then just lost power ,turned out to be a split in a hose ,.i  got car to garage took head off  it was the head gasket ,we inspected the bores ,and got a bit of wear on them ,engines done 120,000 miles but as plenty of power starts excellent ,ive only had the astra 8 days .question is would it be ok  putting a new gasket and skimmed head back on , ive only done 500 miles

  It seems to me that there is considerable extra wear and tear on the starter motor, battery, flywheel gear ring, snatch on the cam belt/chain drive and many other systems which would be better contiuing to run smoothly rather than stopping and starting many times. I doubt the carbon savings are worth it from a cost and inconvenience point of view.   About  two weeks ago the temp gauge started fluctuating so i took it to the garage.They decided it was the thermostat so they replaced it along with a new sensor,however now the temp gauge constantly runs at 92-5 degrees even when driving the fan stays on and doesnt go off!! any suggestions on what could be the problem would be greatly appreciated.

      I have a split charge relay & believe the Alternator puts out 55A.  From the leisure battery im running the stereo, 2 Amplifiers, a couple of interior lights & a propex heater, Not all at the same time.  any ideas?  Thank Scott.

  I have a 1997 Prado which is running fine and done just over 100,000 miles. I would like to keep this vehicle for several more years, what do I need to ask my local garage (not a Toyota specialist garage) to do at the next service to ensure its reliability into the future?
• Chevrolet Camaro (1998 'ish) - Fuel pump replaced, will not start 20 Mar 2010 (Forum)
    The fuel pump failed and was replaced by access to tank gained by cutting floor. replacement pump( from the states) runs and fuel arrives at the pressure regulating valve located at the rear of the rocker cover, this is checked by breaking into the lines at the wheel well, but does not pressurise the fuel system and there is no fuel to allow the engine to fire, sounds a bit af a coincidence that the pressure regulating valve should have failed at the same time, anyone with clues or advice?

  Top of the list so far is the Pathfinder, a fully specced Aventura, 56/07 plate, manual, diesel. This is based on size and reasonable running costs and not too big a list of common faults. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks

  Wars are usually about resources and our economy runs on oil. I had always believed that the main reason we wanted to keep the Falklands was oil, the islands sit on a big shallow plateau similar to the North Sea. If there is oil there, as the price of oil increases it will become viable to extract it.

  If you do a search for problems in the Backroom for Focus, and 3, you get far more Focus ones! Of course that may be because more Focus' are sold, but still... anyone run a 3 to high mileage here like 200k ... ?

  My car has a serious hesitation when pulling off after cold start in winter. If I disengage the clutch to keep the engine running, then the engine stumbles then recovers after a few seconds. It only happens in the first few minutes after starting, and once moving it pulls well in all gears. In summer the problem doesn't occur.

  I noticed the glow plug light is on for a very short time, a second or so, even when the temp is below freezing is that right. also after driving for a couple of hundred yards the radiator cooling fan runs could the two be connected?

  Just had a (genuine) cambelt kit fitted and noticed heat from behind the top belt cover - removing this revealed excessive heat from the top sprocket and the belt run to the right felt very tight - I had only driven the car 10 miles..... I am aware the tension setting can be tricky on these - any theories on the error made? I understand this will have the early hydraulic tensioner.........
