Motorpoint Sells 250th 500 8 Jun 2011 (News)
Motorpoint has sold a staggering 250 Fiat 500 cars in its quest to sell 500 of the superminis before the end of 2011. The car supermarket exceeded the half way mark last month, including sales of the limited edition pink Fiat 500 convertible. Since bringing in its first few Fiat 500s mid-way through 2009 Motorpoint has watched demand for the cars rapidly increase. -
Fuel prices at three-year low, says AA 21 Mar 2014 (News)
Petrol prices in March have been 129.46 pence-per-litre on average, down from 138.42 pence-per-litre in 2013, while the average diesel price was down 8.6 pence-per-litre from 145.24p to 136.59p. The price reductions are owned to fuel duty freezes, reduced oil prices and increased competition between fuel retailers, particularly supermarkets. -

JM, Ruthin, N Wales Petrol engined cars below EU4 and diesel engined cars below EU6 will not be allowed into a lot of city centres. This is on top of the problems that diesel-engined cars tend to suffer between years 3 and 6 and I think it's going to leave a lot of fleets relying on current diesel residuals bankrupt. -

I'm on the point of arranging to get a VW Golf SV on Motability, so I'll only have it for 3 years, but find it difficult to decide whether to go for the 1.4 TSI 125 petrol engine or the 1.6 Diesel. I've read one report that suggests the diesel on the SV is not much more economical than the petrol, but others suggest the diesel is far more economical. I would be grateful for your advice. -
