Rented a car now want to buy one... 3 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Just spent 3 weeks driving about in Australia in a car that I rented - a Mitsubishi 380 SX. I am pretty sure that these are not available anywhere in Europe but I am wondering what comes close. Really enjoyed driving it and was extremely comfortable. -
Morris Minors for teen drivers 1 Apr 2007 (Forum)
When i learned to drive performance cars were able to do a ton whilst the rest of dreamed or frightened ourselves in souped up Escorts etc. It would seem that any car these days is well capable of speeds exceeding 100 mph whilst human and especially teenage evolution in road skills has stayed the same. -

Estate covenant - no commercial vehicles 25 Feb 2007 (Forum)
One of our near neighbours not only ignores the covenant, but actually parks his very large van right outside the entrance to our drive, making it quite awkward getting in and out. It's hard to describe, but we're on the end of a cul-de-sac, our drive goes straight on to the end of the cul-de-sac, he parks at the side of the road, with the nose of his van against the join between road and driveway. -
Computer Related Questions - Volume 112 2 Jan 2007 (Forum)
We've checked other DVDs which now juddder too, but other uses of the drive like CD back ups and reading data are OK. Music CDs judder too. Any ideas, please? Nothing that we know of changed to the system between a film playing properly and the same DVD not so doing. Is it a shortage of some sort of memory? -
Fog - why no headlights 28 Dec 2006 (Forum)
Has anyone else notice how many people are driving around without their headlights on during daytime thick fog ? I took a straw pole today and something like 50% of drivers had no lights switched on, a further 20% only had tiny side lights on, and this was in fog around midday where visibility was less than 100 meters. -
Noisy Peugeot 406 Aircon Compressor 28 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Does anybody know what the noise is, and what is the easiest (and cheapest) way to fix it? I was hoping that it was the electric clutch on the drive pulley and could be replaced, but the MOT guy says it's comming from inside the compressor -
I am a middle lane hogger! 23 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Driving home on the M8 swimming pool tonight, I quickly realised that the safest lane to be in was the middle lane! The outside lane had a lot of surface water and the drains obviously just were not coping with the rain. -
L driver cheaper insurance loophole? 15 Oct 2006 (Forum)
And for those who say why get her a car in her own name - a) I did it for the first so I'm duty bound, and b) she's not driving mine or my wife's - full stop. -
Uninsured Drivers = 99% Hit & Runs 9 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Hi All lawful motoirst and other decent eople are fed up with the criminals that drive around without valide insurance. Even if a car has insurance, but subsequently runs out of raod tax/mot, then technically its not insured. Where there is a weill, there is a way. The way is simple. -
excessive wear on tyres 5 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Even if they were 'el cheapos' doesn't that sound a bit quick to wear out a tyre completely. Front wheel drive maybe more likely, but on the back of a 320i ? it's not exacly gut thrustingly quick on the acceleration is it and she doesn't look like the average 'drifter'. -
Easy to drive van? 2 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Hi all. I`ve previously posted looking for a vehicle with seats that fold down into a bed, however somebody did post about just sticking a mattress in... -
Diagnose my Micra please 23 Aug 2006 (Forum)
In fact I only have to push the clutch pedal a very little and the knocking noise disappears. The knocking noise can be heard when driving, and doesn't disappear once the engine is warm. If I depress the clutch while driving the knocking noise disappears. I've listened to the engine and can't hear any obvious 'wrong' noises. I bought the car without a service history (yes I know!) -
Golf Water Pump Failure 18 Aug 2006 (Forum)
I'm really annoyed by this, but don't think I have any come back. Thoughts? PS: If anyone else is having the drive belts replaced in their golf I recommend paying the extra £20 for a new water pump at the same time. -

Honda CRV Sport Automatic Reg.01.08.2005 30 Apr 2006 (Forum)
My dealer is involved, but, to date, is no nearer finding an answer, neither are Honda. Frankly, the car is otherwise, great, (this is my third CRV), but this one is driving me right up the wall !!! -
What is it with car dealers????? 7 Apr 2006 (Forum)
I found it on the internet and am now in the process of phoning dealers to see what they can do. Even before this I phoned around to see what they had in stock and what was available to test drive. So in total I've been in ocntact with around 8 dealerships. Not one of these has ever phoned me back. I even went for a test drive with one, I lwft saying I'd think about it, and they took my details and that was the last I heard. -
Nissan X-trail - stuttering 3 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Whilst it is frustrating for us if they cannot find any faults, I do appreciate it can be difficult for them to trace. It's just sod's law if they drive it and the engine decides to play up. The engine is a diesel and we are following HJ's running in guidance. Thanks. SVM -
What car-new Suzuki Swift orHyundai Getz 2 Mar 2006 (Forum)
The 2 replacements we have narrowed it down to are either a nearly new Getz or Suzuki Swift. We have looked at a Getz and the new shape Swift. I haven't had the chance to test drive the Swift yet but did drive the Getz which I thought drove fairly well. Other than the famous 5 year warranty that would come with the Getz (well the remainder of it anyway), can anyone offer any advice on which one to go for?
