• Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - 04 1.5 (dci) 65 bhp an electrical problem 21 Jan 2010 (Forum)
  My 04 1.5 65bhp dci renault Clio engine maintenance light has come on. The local Indy has identified the fault as being the EGR. He was cleaned it - ok for a few days, replaced it, no improvement light still on after resetting on the computer.

  I have a 1999 scenic that has just had a new head gasket, timing belt and water pump all fitted by renault. Ibought the car from a friend while it was in the renault dealer having the repairs and now i have the car back the water level light is on permanently allthough water levels are fine and the fan cuts in fine also.

  I have a 04 megane petrol with a 1.4 engine and it keeps flashing up 'injector fault' when it does this it takes a while to start then runs rough,also when it comes on when driving the car looses power,the light comes and goes and when its not on the car runs fine,i have spoke to renault they want £65 to diagnose problem. Is there anything obvious i can check myself or am i in the hands of renault? thanks andrew. {year & engine added to subject line, seeing as you missed the requests asking for you to do it, despite being a BR member for nearly 2 years now!}

  Can anyone help before I take my car into Renault on Saturday. I know its only a silly thing but I paid a lot for the alloys and want them to look their best!

  I hope someone can shed some light on this one for me. I have a Renault Scenic 1.6 16v 2003 Auto, the gearbox changes up and down quite 'clonky'. Sometimes when changing up into top gear it misses the gear all together, the engine revs then it drops in? This makes the driving experience quite tiring.

  Renault have confirmed that it does not need to go to them, but needs to be done at a VAT registered garage and use genuine parts - highest price I have had for the service which is basically an oil change, a pollen filter change and a general look over the car is £205!

  Hi there, I've got a 3 1/2 year old Renault Megane Scenic which has developed a small fault. The dash clock display has suddenly gone dark on the right hand side as if the bulb behind it has blown. I called Renault, and they advised me that the whole of the Dash board will have to come off to replace this one bulb and it wouldn't be worth the cost to do this.

  Nope, there is no jet nozzle in the rear wash plastic casing and if I pull back the roof lining I cannot see a rear wash pipe. It looks like this is a factory defect - anyone had a similar problem? Do you think Renault will fix it for free?

• Renault Modus - Spark plug gap 28 Jun 2025 (Forum)
  Please can someone let me know the correct spark plug gap for these special (expensive) laser iridium spark plugs I have bought for my daughter's 2010 Renault Modus. The plug type is NGK ILKAR7A7 91432. The electrode tips look less robust that normal plugs, so any advice on adjustment would also be great - many thanks :-)

  I have a Renault 2.5 d Master year 2000, and have experienced a loss of power and lots of smoke. The problem is that the engine oil is getting into the fuel supply, i have lost over 1 ltr I verified the problem by removingthe fuel filter (its black and oily ).

    Any idea how long it takes to change a Clutch on a  Renault Megane  1.4.  Year 2005.   The garage did my friends clutch on their car and charged him nine hours labour at £50.00 per hour plus VAT on top. It is proper garage with Ramps and MOT test Station.

  The power steering mechanism on our Renault Megane (2002) has recently been replaced. When the car was collected a light but persistent clunking had appeared, noticeable particularly when travelling at low speeds (say 10 mph). Neither we nor the garage (in 20 mins) have been able to find an explanation.

  My renault Scenic seems prone to collecting water in the heater chamber which on two occasions in the past has meant replacing the heater motor at vast expence! Is there a drain hole that needs clearing out and is a simple way of doing so?

  Hi my 2001 Renault scenic won't start after engine warm. I've cleaned the crank sensor but still the same. Can it still be faulty? I've read about ect sensor but don't know where it is located or where to buy it from.

  My sons 03 renault clio 1.2 headlights have stopped working, i have changed both bulbs and checked all the fuses in the fuse box at the end of the dash on the passenger side, but are still not working, is there another fuse box somewhere, or is it a more serious problem, i would appreciate any advice.

  Hi I have an 02 renault megane, recently the gearbox mount was replaced by '' a guy down the road'' since its been done there is a loud crack / slap type sound when changing gears, it seems to be in the gearbox area. the gear stick still wobbles about but not as bad as it did and only in 1st and 4th any ideas any one??

  The garage has quoted £1700 for the repair which is about what the car is worth. The main cause of the high price is that the whole of the column has to be changed and Renault have to issue a code of some sort to be put into the cars computer. Has anyone found a way round this?
