  Having been a very happy 520SE auto petrol owner for the last 15 years, i am looking at buying a stunning BMW 520DSE Automatic with 69k on a 60 plate which has already been serivced 3 time and looks to have done mainlly motorway driving. BUT I have seen worrying reports about the DPF. I only drive between 10-20 miles a day on a motorway so will may reach  70mph for about 5 mins. occasional longer drives.

  I am having some problems with the automatic gearbox on my Peugeot 2008. When overtaking the kickdown works ok, but the tiptronic gearbox does not change...
• Mazda MX5 2003 - Correct Coolant Fluid 24 Feb 2014 (Forum)
  HJ's car review states that the MX5 (2005-) needs a special coolant fluid. My 2003 Miata is an 1.8L automatic and I'm assuming that the same rule applies. I have, without luck, tried to find out what is the specification of this special fluid. Apart from Google I also bought a copy of the workshop manual (onCD).

  Hi all,  when I started the car the other day, the driver's side (dipped) headlight came on, then after about 2 seconds, the passenger side came on. I tend to leave the lights on automatic setting mostly. Driving along, I noticed that the passenger side light went off, then came back on after about a minute or so, then went off altogether. I assume that the bulb has 'gone'. I only replaced this bulb a month ago and the driver's side a month before that.

  I only seem to get 350/400 miles per full tank but my old Mk5 GTD dsg did 600/650 per tank. It also seems to labour in high gears when it should automatically change down. Have spoken to them at VW UK and was told they are all like this, is that correct or will they eventually recall cars for a replacement ECU or a remap. I thought new cars were meant to be getting more efficient but in this case (40 mpg) they are not .

  Here is what I am looking for specifically: - Age range: Up to 10 years old - Budget: £3000 max - Transmission: Automatic - Ideally a model with good safety features - A small car that I can drive comfortably considering I am only 5ft tall After considering recommendations, I have narrowed down my search to Toyota Yaris, Nissan Micra and Renault Clio.

  Important criteria are:- i)                     Needs to be automatic ii)                    Maximum width – 5’ 6” as the lock-up I will be left with is quite narrow iii)                  Roomy as I am 6’ 2”, 15 stone and have a long back Estimated budget - £5 – 10k depending on what I get for my collection (only one not SORN’d)
• peugeot 306 - Peugeot 306 ignition lock change 6 Dec 2012 (Forum)
  Hi guys, Have a pug 306 hdi and a couple of days ago the spring return in the ignition barrel went sloppy and won't return to it's correct position automatically so went to a scrappy today and got another barrel together with it's key. Trouble is after we fitted it the car will turn over properly but won't start. I presume this is something to do with the immobilizer transponder so put the old lock and key back in and sure enough the car started first time.

  Ive noticed that AJM and AUY codes seem to have the same layout / kp / hp, But unsure if they will slot into my Automatic Sharan. My old engine has served me proud covering a whopping 184k. The car is still mint thoughout and would be a shame to let die. Please any advise would be great.

  http://www.southamonline.org.uk/node/323   If your vehicle tax disc expired at the end of March this year and you have already renewed it, have a look at the expiry date , and  if it reads 30.03.13 then it is invalid . You should be automatically be sent a corrected disc for display dated 31.03.13 for as you know, of course, there are 31 days in March. If this hasn't happened already  please take your incorrect disc to where you obtained it and a new correct one will be issued free of charge.

  I had a drive of a friends BMW 5 2.0 diesel and it was lovely to drive. I can see myself driving an automatic as its easier to drive but what to get ? any ideas please what Mondeo like do i get petrol or diesel i do 12000 miles a year

  The second fault is with the windscreen wipers. They turn on and off as told, but don't return to the start position automatically, they just stutter across the windscreen as if they are trying to find their home. Any suggestions you guys have got will be truly appreciated before I have to part with any hard earned cash.
• Toyota Corolla - Low Idle Speed 4 Feb 2012 (Forum)
  Ever since I bought it the idle speed seems to be rather low normally about 700, but ocassionally dropping to 600 with accompanying slight vibration. Pick-up is fine and the revs adjust normally for the automatic choke and when the air-con is switched on. I took it back to the dealership and they plugged it into the diagnostics computer and they said everything is O.K. and that Corollas tend to run with a low idle.

  i have a skoda octavia 2007 automatic gearbox DSG. recently got a bit of juddling while car was on nuetral, took it to the dealer they told me it is the duel mess flywheel gone and i need to chage it. while opeing the gearbox they found a part of the gearbox broken and they needed to to take to the the gearbox specialist, they charged me almost £1200. i still have the same problems and a new problem which is a bit delay in changing the gear. i took it back to them they say they have no idea what it is and avoided anymore service. need help please. anyone can tell me what the problem is and what should i do with the dealer?

  Dear Fellow Members, I am looking to buy an automatic Honda jazz in a price range of 5000 pounds. Because the CVT is quiet expensive to repair, I would like to buy from an approved honda dealer. When I search I found that my nearby showrooms(in London) quote 6000 and above for a 2004 model, but showrooms in Glasgow and Cumbria quote below 5000!

So -- "aggressive" drivers have automatically had accidents, and the "considerate" ones (who evidently hold people back on motorways) haven't? Drivers who sit on the right-hand lane at 68mph (which is the only bunch that seem to fit the profile on the ad) are the drivers they're after?

• Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 05 2.2 Heated screens and seats 14 Jan 2010 (Forum)
  However when I test drove this next one I noticed the front and rear heated window button lights came on when I turned the engine on. I have been told by the seller that this is suppossed to happen as automatically linked to the temperature. My old 54 plate ST did not do this (admittedly it is very cold at the mo)... Is this right? Also - any ideas why the heated seats wouldn't be working... what needs checking?

  I have an automatic petrol model which was going beautifully until last week when in drive around 3000 revs gearbox warning light came on and there was a loud clunk sounding as if i had driven over something metal.
