    Usually it will warm up fairly slowly and only get up to halfway when at speed (60+), slowly dropping down to 1/4 or just below when encountering towns/traffic and driving at a lower speed, but occasionally it does spend most of the journey at halfway, but will never stay there.   The car drives without fault apart from this minor issue  and both heater and aircon work fine - there seems to be no noticeable effect if I have heat/aircon on or not.

  Our Honda CRV is making a very strange noise when driving along on cold mornings. The noise starts after about two minutes of driving – never from pulling away – always after two minutes, and then can be heard for about two minutes – sometimes continually, other times not – and then disappears until the car has been left standing for a good while either during the day or over night.

  Just watched an episode of police interceptors. Guy pulled over for driving a cloned vehicle, which had been originally sent for scrap. He didn't have a license. Who knows what offences he clocked up with the fake plates. The car was deemed unroadworthy as well. So not only was he driving illegally, he had a vehicle that wasn't supposed to be on the road.

  Driving on M6 yesterday, southbound, through the roadworks north of Birmingham. All traffic moving at approx 50mph, traffic reasonably heavy. Spotted blue lights in my mirror; all traffic in Lane 3 slotting neatly into Lane 2 to let the two police cars through (one black and unmarked, the other a dog patrol in a Volvo).

  In the last 8-12 months the oil consumption has been increasing dramatically, but there is no sign of a leak from underneath - no oil puddles left on the drive overnight. In the last week or so it's also been guzzling water, again with no sign of puddles underneath, on the engine or in the belly pan. The water/radiator light is on almost all the time, and I can put over a litre of water in after only a short drive.

   I like the reliability of the honda, some concerns over a hard ride (yet to test drive), I understand there are certain tyre sizes you should avoid yet I don't know which models this applies too.  Freelander 08 apparently is good for the motionsickness which is a big consideration although I read about reliability issues regarding the autos.

  I have a 54 plate colt epuippe. Whilst driving the engine light came on and after a few seconds the coolent light came on as well. At the same time as the coolent light the engine shudders and the revs go up and down. Its very easy to stall at this point.

  Please could anyone help me out, as to why I have just had to replace one of the injectors, which was damaged. I am now worried about driving the vehicle, as the way it came to a sudden stop the other day was dangerous, next time I may not be on a quiet road... what should I do? 
• Volvo C30 - Car juddering on return from servicing 11 Feb 2015 (Forum)
  I have just taken my, perfectly running, C30 1.6 Drive into the local Volvo approved delearship for 100k service. I was informed that, in addition to normal service, I had a leaking injector seal and was advised to have it replaced. On driving home, I found the car to be juddering in 4th and 5th gear at lowish revs.

  It didn't happen all the time and I let my dad convince me it was nothing to worry about. Anyway the other day while driving in 3rd, the power dropped and I could hear a screeching like when the fan belt goes. I turned off the fans and power was restored. The car drives fine, but as soon as I put the fans on there's screeching and no power.
• Toyota Yaris - DPF in 2 year old Yaris 2 Nov 2014 (Forum)
  They've come back and said its not the oil but could be the DPF. I have driven an hour on the motorway recently, but I also drive over 40 miles everyday on A roads. (to + from work). It feels like they are trying to blame my driving, or the journey is not on the motorway - could this be it? I have lost trust in this car and am looking for some advice. thanks
• Young person as named driver on insurance policy 26 Aug 2014 (Forum)
  It's a small car, so I'll probably use it for most of my local driving. The question is will the insurance company see this as fronting if she has an accident,  and would my explanation carry any weight?  There doesn't seem to be much in the way of definitions, or what evidence is required in the event of a claim.

  The Mistubishi Lancer 1.5 sportback - I have driven the saloon and found it good - but worried about negative reports of quality although there are many favourable reports. Suzuki SX4 - know HJ likes this -nearly bought one 2010 but was not too sure about the higher driving position. Also my local mechanic thought the photos of the engine showed too much pipe corrosion. More 'directly related' mechanics felt differently. The Auris I am going out tomorrow for a test drive - like the blue.
• Mitsubishi i - Surging and slowing when cold 4 May 2014 (Forum)
  My automatic "i" has done 34,000 miles, it has a full Mitsubishi service history and I have reviewed it for HJ. It has just developed a disconcerting fault when driving from 'cold' and I would appreciate some advice before entrusting it to our local (not particularly good and expensive) dealer. For the first couple of miles it will do as follows. Drives off OK but then you will find the car does not accelerate - no matter how much you depress the 'throttle' pedal.

  My husband recently got pulled over by the police, And they said he was driving unisured (He has insurance). They said his insurance is invalid as his licence was revoked On Sept 1st (we had no notification of this) He sent his licence off in August for points to put on But at same time had to change some details on the licence When posting licence we sent to Dvla Swansea using change of details postcode DVLA reckon they never received letter (we believe it's there but sitting In wrong department) Anyway his car was seized and we have had to now apply For a new licence at a cost if £50 for revoked licence My question is shouldn't we have been notified his licence was being Revoked, and if it's revoked shouldn't he have got done for Driving with no licence?

  Whilst going around the country I see (and drive) quite a lot of cars. One thing that intrigues me is the number of older vehicles on the road which are still running. [My criterion for defining an older vehicle is that it would predate the introduction of the new registration number format in 2001].

    Now, from time to time, it's impossible to engage third gear. I think this is a reall safety issue - especially in city driving. All the other gears are fine.  At a recent service the BMW technician took the car for a test drive.  It proved inconclusive.  The BMW dealer stated that there have been no issues with this model - it's an 11 plate first registered in Feb 2011.
