• Car parked bumped me 22 May 2015 (Forum)
    I do know that I want to invest in a dash and back cam so then I can obtain proof if an accident occured while I'm away from my car (or if an accident happened and I can prove who was at fault).  More along the lines of cams that have their own batteries.   Any input is appreciated.

  The radio works fine but it does not pick up , any radio stations . Before I changed the battery and the broken antenna oi would pick up , easly all radio signals.   Thank you for all your help, Cheers, Kaskais

  I'm selling my Mum's car for her - a Citroen. It had a new battery fitted last year, which apparently caused the odometer etc to go from miles to Kilometers. She did not notice, and, when the local dealership MOT'd the car in September,they didn't notice, and they put in the km mileage, some 20,000 higher than it should have been!

  My 2001 Ford Mondeo 2.0 petrol has developed a misfire at around 1500 - 2000rpm. Any idea what the problem might be?

  When I stop on way home to pick kids up etc sometimes it won't start. If I leave it for 10 minutes it starts. I've had battery checked and it read as good as new one. It wouldn't start last night so my brother gave me a jump start. It wouldn't start until he revved engine for a good few minutes. There are no warning lights on at all.

  Ever since I had the washer pump changed, and a new battery fitted, the alarm has been prone to going off every now and again for no apparent reason. I am getting pretty tired of this now and have resorted to leaving the car unlocked. The alarm seems to arm whether it is deadlocked or not.

   Sometimes  persistence - putting it in and out of Park pays off and it starts. (I have had a new battery fitted recently).  The Citroen garage fitted a "relay", but since then the problem has recurred twice out of ten starts.   The car is still with the garage, who are trying to solve bthe problem.

  A couple of weeks back, similar situation plus some strange messages on Multi-function display, such as "Economy Mode", but nothing electrical, like radio, left switched on, strange! Last week, left stranded, car wouldn't start, battery dead. AA discovered driver side footwell swimming in water, hence electrical probs and strange Mf display. Can't work out if water is coming in at boot and getting to front or vice-versa. Help, any ideas?

  However with the key in the on position, gradually the display flickered and more and more electrics came back. 90 minutes later the radio returned and the car turned over but wouldn't catch. Ten minutes after that it started (just as the RAC turned up). They tested the battery and it was fully charged. The car ran perfectly the 30 miles home and has started again. What happened? It is an LPG conversion by the way and was serviced four weeks ago. It has travelled 110k miles

  Noticed also that when ignition is first turned on neither of these lights illuminate unlike the battery charge and autodiagnostic lights which illuminate when ignition turned on then go out when engine started. For the life of me I cannot recall whether or not the water temp and oil pressure warning lights also illuminate on the AX when ignition is turned on then go out when engine starts.

  1) alternator producing up to 18v, assess by turning on electrics, (this has made no difference), neutralise by disconnecting the battery and shorting across the disconnected cables. Solve by replacing the alternator. 2) faulty panel. replace 3) poor connections somewhere in the loom. I cannot see where in theconfusion of innaccessible cables and electrics any likely poor connections.

• Peugeot 307 Rapier - Fuse rating 11 Mar 2013 (Forum)
  The vehicle designer recognised that the power rating of the blower (nearly half horsepower )   was a battery drain and therefore only enabled the fan when engine running. Hence 40 Amp fuse justified.

    Last week I drove frove from London to Nottingham using wipers and lights and I felt loss of power on the motorway and the car wouldn't start the following day. I've changed the battery but after a few days the same problem has started all over again. The car responds with jerks if i try to accelerate quickly.

  My fathers Vectra's ignition pin broke meaning he couldn't turn the engine off, we had to stall it then disconnect the battery. Today, got a new ignition barrel from MegaVaux (Aviod them, they are not as good as i was told)  Got the old one out, after a bit of a fumbling, but the new one will not go in, no matter what i try and how hard i push.

  After this I spent 5 mins puting all the housing and screws back on only to find that when I fitted it a second time to the car, it would not turn on! I disconected the power and reconected... I even disconected the battery, but it still will not come on. There are wee green lights that come on next to where you put in the CDs, so I know it is getting power. I have seen a number of folk in this same predicament, but nobody has managed to provide a solution... anyone have any ideas?

  It doesnt seem too major, but I would like to know what it could possibly be and get it sorted now, before it does become a more regular occurence! Somebody did tell me that maybe the battery in my key is playing up? Thanks for any advice!
