Citroen AX 1.0 Elation 1995 model - Citroen AX - Dash warning lights - Geordie1

Just had a water pump replaced at indy garage and on the road the water temp and oil pressure warning lights both itermiitently flicker simultaneously which is obviously wrong.

Noticed also that when ignition is first turned on neither of these lights illuminate unlike the battery charge and autodiagnostic lights which illuminate when ignition turned on then go out when engine started.

For the life of me I cannot recall whether or not the water temp and oil pressure warning lights also illuminate on the AX when ignition is turned on then go out when engine starts.

Could some knowledgeable soul kindly confirm prior to my revisiting the garage.

I am sure both oil and temp lights should illuminate ignition on before engine start. Can't see why a new water pump should affect these, but may be a good idea for the garage to check wiring to the engine,in case something has been disturbed.hth

Many thanks for the response. Just to finalise this topic....the fault was a loose electric spade terminal on the oil pressure switch which had occurred during the fitting of the new water pump amd timing belt kit. For the record...the 'coolant' and 'oil' lights both illuminate when the ignition is switched on then of course extinguish when the engine is started.
