Mercedes-Benz B-Class - Dealer confidence 23 Sep 2018 (Forum)
There is also a few other niggles I'm concerned with, namely it's advertised as having self parking and front parking sensors and I'm pretty sure that it hasn't got either, now I could see past this as he may have ticked a few too many boxes on the autotrader website but their own website also lists these options and isn't a dealer autotrader site. I'm planning on inspecting the car the day before I collect and chop my old car in but I've not told the dealer this yet. Anyone shine any light on where I stand with the non refundable deposit should it not meet the agreed expectations? -
New EU Proposals 9 Jun 2018 (Forum)
Saw this in the Daily Mail. It was a bit old so I did not post but the thread about £800 DRLs prompted me to. How driving could get safer: Europe wants ALL new cars to be fitted with these eleven safety measures by 2021. -
Nissan X Trail1.6 Dci - 2015 X Trail clutch issue when reversing 25 Jan 2018 (Forum)
Car is nearly 3 years old with 30K miles. It's the 1.6 DCI 130 bhp lump with selectable 4WD. So a month left of warranty I decided to get a niggle sorted out. When reversing uphill I get an awful groaning sort of noise which begins as the clutch engages and continues until I reduce throttle or press the clutch again. -
BMW 325 - Dealer not settling finance 17 Jan 2018 (Forum)
No probs with the new car or new finance but the dealer hasn't settled the outstanding finance on my old car. If it's not settled in the next few days all the settlement details will change. I (stupidly) cancelled the direct debit as the dealer told me it would only take five days to settle everything. -
2001 Daewoo Matiz - Daewoo Matiz - Stalling Issue 26 May 2017 (Forum)
Hi, I have an old 2001 Daewoo Matiz that I bought for my wife as her first practice car. It has only 34,000 on the clock. After about a few weeks of buying, while driving, the car stalled. When started again, I could hear some sound coming from exhaust as if there is some issues, I kept revving for a while and then all of a sudden car got normal and then it didn't stall for the rest of the trip. -
BMW x3 2011 - Compensation BMW UK 18 Apr 2016 (Forum)
I bought a new x3 on 10 March 2011. I also bought the five year service pack and had the car serviced at a BMW dealer after two and four years. (2 year intervals for diesel) All went well unti 24 March 2016, the car was then 5 years 2 weeks old and had done a tiny 13k miles. On that day, I got several error messages on the dashboard and put it into my local BMW dealer to be checked. -
Explain PCP to an idiot... 25 Feb 2016 (Forum)
This doesn't seem like a good deal to me - I'd rather pay £16k now and keep the not-quite-so new car for 10 years before I'm left with b***** all. While I'm moaning, how the hell did 2.5-year-old cars get so expensive in 9 years? I paid £9k in 2007, the equivalent now appears to be a minimum of £14k! -

2006 Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 - Ford Focus - starting problems 27 Feb 2014 (Forum)
I jumped the car the next day and had the battery / alternater checked and all looked good (alternater is 18 months old, battery around 4 years) All has been fine until today, tried to start the car again, same problem, flat battery. -
VW Golf Estate 2.0 tdi 2009 - EGR 20 Feb 2014 (Forum)
The car is regularly used on motorway/main road runs and infrequently for short, or traffic snarled hops. I have been in discussion with VW Cutomer Care, who admit that this fault usually occurs at mileages around the 100k mark, so my car is unusual. -
Citroen C4 Grand Picasso - Failing air suspension - again 13 Jan 2013 (Forum)
My C4 Grand Picasso has rear air suspension. Three years ago, when the car was 3 years old with 33k on the clock, both units failed (left, then right) within the space of 200miles. Now, with the car just past its 6th birthday and with 66k on the clock, I found it this morning on its back haunches again ....it had sunk overnight. -
Vauxhall Corsa D 1.2i petrol - Petrol smell 19 Oct 2012 (Forum)
My Corsa D 1.2i petrol is less than 2 years old, 7100 miles, so probably not a corrosion problem. Fairly strong smell of petrol from rear of car (boot, rear seat area?) especially when tank above half full. No drips on ground or apparent leak underneath outside. -
Hyundai I40 - Re : Insurance claims 7 Aug 2012 (Forum)
The car would be fixed in the Hyundai dealer's workshop and I would be provided with a hire car whilst the work is carried out. Has anybody out there had their claim handled in this way ? I've never heard of this scheme before and it sounds to good to be true ! -
Peugeot 3008 - Best way to extend warranty 12 Jul 2012 (Forum)

We love the car, and another day I might write up a review on it, but thats not the topic of this posting Topic is warranty The car has suffered 3 breakdowns in the 18 months we have owned it (bought it on approved used scheme 1 year old from Peugeot). -
Any - Help me decide on my next car (diesel) 5 Oct 2011 (Forum)
Right - i'm looking a buying my first diesel (doing ~25k a year). I can stretch to 10k and want a car no older than 4 years and 80k It must be a similar size to my existing car (madza 6 1st gen) It must be a competant motorway cruiser It must be fairly economical (although I want a bit of power too) Most importantly - It must be reliable (pretty damn hard with most modern diesels!) -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 99 1.6 Central locking issue 15 Aug 2009 (Forum)
If I unlock the car from the driver's door, only the driver's door opens - no others. Sounds strange, eh? Any ideas? I'm not *that* bothered, as it's a 10 year old car I'm learning in, so central locking isn't really important for learning to drive... but it's a niggle that if it can be easily or cheaply fixed, I'd like to resolve. -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 05 1.6 Front Suspension 19 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Other than this the car runs loveley, the steering / brakes are spot on. Anyone got any thoughts? Cheers -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2003, rusty doors...anyone else got them?? 17 Dec 2008 (Forum)
i just bought an 03 mk3 mondeo tdci ghia, i checked the car over before buying as well as i could and have checked cars in the past without problems. alas! one thing i didnt think to check for was rust! i am sure i can be excused for this as it is an 03 car and not something you would expect to have to look for, especially for what i paid for it. -
Need advice buying a car 5 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Sorry I am totally clueless with regards to cars. At the moment I have an 11 year old fiesta which I have had for 6 years, and I need to change it for something abit newer as it has started to cost me a fair bit at MOT time. So I was wondering if somebody could give me some ideas, as I have a few things I do want in a car, have an amount, but not sure what I need to avoid that will cost me long term (ie parts etc). -
Dad finally considering a new ( his last ) car 24 Jul 2008 (Forum)
He said to me today that having had a poke around, the structural rust on his 15 year old Astra is getting MOT worthy now and as such, he is considering buying new, but only if it is long-term cost effective. Essentially, what he wants to do is replace his with a car that will eventually be used by both my mum and him when they go to one car in about 5 years.
