My Corsa D 1.2i petrol is less than 2 years old, 7100 miles, so probably not a corrosion problem. Fairly strong smell of petrol from rear of car (boot, rear seat area?) especially when tank above half full. No drips on ground or apparent leak underneath outside. When less than half full, smell disappears but sometimes returns and stays after driving car a few miles. Am now driving around with windows open and tank nearly empty. Filler cap not too tight but suspect this is a vent. Perhaps charcoal canister in rear wheel arch? No petrol smell at all from engine compartment, even when hot. Incidentally, the car seems to run rich - poorish economy compared with my previous Corsa C (and it should be better, from the figures), oil gets dirty quite quickly compared with Corsa C. Car hasn't had any bumps or jolts or been messed about with. Any ideas, please?
