  • which aircon parts do i need? (306 hdi) 3 May 2007 (Forum)
firstly thanks to Dave N for the last lot of info Im just trying to realistically price up the cost of parts for repairing the aircon parts behind the dash ie. evaporator, thermal valve etc I just need to know exactly what is needed because i think peugeots price for a pressure release valve (thermal expansion valve) and evaporator was £502 but other aircon specialists is around £200 I dont know what lies behind the dash so i could do with a break down of parts needed.
  • Peug 306 diesel eng turns wont start 5 Feb 2007 (Forum)
I hope someone can help. I have a 1998 Peugeot 306 diesel. For the last few months for no reason the to start the car in the mornings it would take 10 minutes, constantly turning over the engine until it eventually started. I have replaced the glo tubes, had it serviced, still no joy.
  • Ford Focus TDCi poor starting 2 Jan 2007 (Forum)
I would normally assume the battery was at fault in this situation but I have a friend who owns a Peugeot 1.9TD which sounds just as slow when turning over and he had a new battery. Maybe there is a common fault on this type of car? Battery is the original Ford unit that came with the car. Comments appreciated.
  • Partner van, getting to glow plugs 11 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Hi I've just managed to change my glow plugs on the peugeot partner van, 1.9 XUD, S reg. But I didn't manage to remove the air inlet housing above the plugs, I had to struggle underneath it. Although I did manage to lift it up higher and prop it up. How are you supposed to get it off?
  • Mondeo alloy wheel corrosion ??? 6 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Am I alone in thinking that for a 30 month old vehicle with 30,000 miles on the clock, that this is neither normal, nor reasonable ??? Many years ago I owned a beat up 10 year old Peugeot 205 GTi with flaking alloys - but a £22,000 Ford ? Looks like a rubbish wheel design, and poor manufacturing quality to me.....shame Ford won't admit it. I'd like to hear from anyone else who has had this problem on the Ghia X Mondeo.
  • 306 Speedo Problems 21 Feb 2006 (Forum)
The problem appears to go away when the car has done 10-12 miles from cold, the needle which sticks off the scale judders and on stopping returns to zero and works fine. The local main dealer hasnt encountered the problem. Peugeot UK is saying checking with their computer diagnostics and replacement of the main unit at a cost of £178 vat and hours labour, but with no guarantee of success. Has anyone got any suggestions? Or should I call it quits and replace the car?
  • Berlingo HDi gearbox trouble 8 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Actually a Peugeot Partner 2.0HDi but it's the same as a Berlingo. Had clutch changed two weeks ago at around 145k miles. Two weeks later I start hearing a whine on third gear. But the whine only appears either after moving from rest changing up from first and second, or after using third gear for a while, after having travelled in fourth or fifth.
  • Ford RSOC meet @ Bealieu 17/07/05 8 Jul 2005 (Forum)
The club invites all the other RSOCs in the south of England to attend, with a good turnout. There's normally representation from other marques too. Last year saw BMWOC, Alfa Owners and Peugeot Sport representation, with some rather fine cars on display. Highlight for me last year was the GT40 and RS200 on display (particularly when the GT40 was fired up). Whilst there are usually some kev-cars to be seen, there are also some lovely concours cars to view.

  • Diesel cars - cynical marketing? 20 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Yet on the new Fiesta Zetec S the 90bhp diesel is £900 more than the 100bhp petrol version. The 99bhp versions of the Focus have the diesel a whopping £1,700 more. Peugeot 307 are in the same league as the 90bhp diesel is £1,600 more than the 90bhp petrol version(with the same trim) Whilst 'dieselheads' will extol the driving characteristics of compression ignition machines, most people buy them for their superior economy.
  • MOT certificate mislaid - problem? 8 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Hi all, I just sold off Mrs Oz's H-reg Peugeot 205 XL to a colleague, but was surprised that I couldn't finf the current MOT certificate. Probably mis-filed. The new owner believes it is essential for him to have. However: (1), as the car was taxed up till 28/2/05, this is clear evidence that the MOT certificate existed when the car was taxed (in 3/04). (2) what is the law about on-demand production of an MOT certificate?
  • Ford Mondeo Ghia X or Zetec? 22 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Having finally had enough of my Peugeot 405 GTX (2nd head gasket in 80,000 miles) and a new job 50 miles away from home I have decided that:- 1) Now is the time to stop spending £1500 on my next car. 2) Bite the bullet and go diesel.
  • Ford 1.8TD Engine 21 Jun 2004 (Forum)
I've narrowed my choice down to: Ford Mondeo 1.8TD LX on a 99 V. Ford Escort 1.8TD LX on a 99 T Peugeot 406 HDI 110 on a 99 T. The Pug would probably cost most to run, and I can get the Escort for about £2,000 so that makes it the cheapest of the bunch, the Mondeo is the most expensive at £3K, but it comes taxed and tested.
  • Pug 205 locked doors 10 Dec 2003 (Forum)
The drivers side door on my Peugeot 205 is unopenable. Operating the lock from the outside seems as normal (it turns fully in both directions) but the lock button inside the door doesn't lift. When inside the car I can't fully lift the button, as if something is jamming its full movement.

  • Drive Shaft End Float - Citroen XM 27 Jul 2003 (Forum)
This is difficult to handle, as it is probably around twenty hours work to strip down and check. And is it worth it? However, a similar whine (from 100k) on the final drive of my Peugeot 405 developed into the demise of the differential bearing at around 225K... Apart from that, the XM is glorious... Rob
  • New Mondeo TDci auto 6 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Currently my dad runs a 99T Vectra 1.8LS auto estate (which he is very pleased with) and is a big fan of self-shifters - from talking to him he's not taken with the idea of "fancy gimmickery - I just like to put it in Drive and off I go". Still, it's impressive that auto diesels are becoming popular again - 10 years ago only Peugeot and Citroen offered them on non-prestige cars, if I recall correctly.
  • 307 First Service 24 Jan 2003 (Forum)
So I guess the mileage is not really a problem but the 5 months over is. Whats the score with this? Did Peugeot really ditch the 6K free service? Will it matter if I missed it?
  • '95 306 - what's it worth - help! 22 Nov 2002 (Forum)
Hi there, Is anyone 'in the know' able to advise a private buyer (me) whether my work colleagues M 95 Peugeot 306 1.8 SR sedan is actually worth the £1500 he wants for it? It has SH up to 60k, he's done his own up to the now 97k. It's that nice tahiti blue, with alloys, but needs a b***** good valet, and sadly has 1 or 2 little dings on the wing and door from parking.
