30k + miles per yr recommendations. 406? 7 Sep 2005 (Forum)
I don't have a lot of cash to spend (maybe £4k) and I really don't want anything flash - this is purely a workhorse I'm looking for, something to stick the miles on and not worry about. Peugeot 406 was one idea. Maybe a Mondeo. But what about your suggestions? Cheers... adam. -
Slow Diesel in the Morning 2 Dec 2004 (Forum)
I have run two turbo-diesel automatics; a Peugeot 605DT (since deceased) and a new Hyundai Trajet CRDT (brand new this Sept - only 2,300miles so far). With both of theme, they were very sluggish in the morning, m until they were warmed through. -

Pug 1.9 gti oil leak 21 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Hi all, I've just bought a Peugeot 1.9 gti off a friend. It's a great car - only one previous owner and 45000 miles on the clock. The only problem is there is a persistent oil leak. We thought it was the crankshaft oil seal, so removed the gearbox and replaced it. -
7 seat MPV rear safety 13 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Apologies if this has been covered before - have done a forum search but no success. I have just been away on holiday with various relatives who have a Toyota Picnic, Galaxy & Peugeot 806. With the launch of the new Grand Scenic as well, this prompted me to look at the safety of the rear passengers. Has anyone any experience of actual rear end accidents with these type of cars? -
\"Free\" tracking check 16 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Got a new tyre for my Peugeot 306 XSi about an hour ago. Asked the bloke how much to check the tracking. \"Free check sir\" \"OK, could you check it then please?\" Checks it. \"Oh that\'s a mile out sir. No problem, it can be sorted, but that\'s £16.99 plus VAT\". -
306 jumps back out of third gear! 18 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Hi everyone, I have literally just bought my first car, an M reg Peugeot 306 D Turbo, but already i have found my first problem - quite often the gear stick will jump out of third (and occasionally first) gear and into neutral, at seemingly random moments. The car drives beautifully when the gears are fully engaged, but obviously this problem is making my daily commute (through the town centre) into even more of an effort than it already is! -
309 service 7 Aug 2002 (Forum)
. £146 covers the following: -Engline flush -Mobil 1 and filter -Air filter -Spark plugs -Coolant change -Fuel filter -'Checks on brake fluid boiling temperature, steering, suspension and so on' (what exactly this covers I don't know) I like using them as they do report back about anything they notice, which is reassuring. Plus, Peugeot have quoted me £250, god knows why. I've just seen the post about Mobil 1 but it ended up talking about prices, is it worth me saving £20 and getting Magnatec or will Mobil 1 be of benefit considering the car does a lot of mileage (mostly delivering fast food!) -
The search continues ... 18 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Bye bye ancient Porche 911 (not got the bottle or the wallet AND no room in the back). The short list now reads Peugeot 206 1.4HDi as a good compromise on looks, accomodation, driving position, equipment and economy. Trouble is, I can't find any write-ups about the Pug 206 with the 1.4 HDi engine. Does anyone have one they can tell me about? -
WEIGHT 1 Oct 2001 (Forum)
i NOTICE THAT MY NEW XSARA TD110 ESTATE WEIGHES 60KG MORE THAN MY 6 YEAR OLD PEUGEOT 405 TD ESTATE. wHERE WILL ALL THIS END? IF YOU LOOK AT THE WEIGHTS OF THE VARIOUS vw gOLFS OVER THE YEARS YOU REACH THE INESCAPABLE CONCLUSION THAT THE THINGS ARE GROUND OUT OF DEPLETED uRANIUM. i'M WELL AWARE THAT THINGS HAVE TO BE MORE CRASHPROOF,BUT ADDED WEIGHT INCREASES THE ENERGY TO BE DISSIPATED IN DIRECT PROPORTION. oNE SOLUTION WOULD BE TO GET A DESIGNER OF AIRCRAFT INTERIORS TO DO THE SEATS,HAVE YOU TRIED TO LIFT A CAR SEAT RECENTLY? -

Also what are the import conditions into France? We will be looking for two cars. 1. A large diesel estate like a Volvo 850, Peugeot 406, or perhaps a Discovery for up to £12,000. 2. A small runabout - anything really, probably French up to £3000. -
2003 Peugeot 307 gxl auto h/b petrol - social financial emotional affects of car repairs 19 Feb 2019 (Forum)
Three weeks ago I had my 2003 Peugeot 307 gxl h/b petrol towed to a nearby garage because it wouldn't fire up. The garage owner replaced fuel pump and sensor in a matter of a week, car still refused to start. The second week I telephoned, mentioned I was concerned about the repair prices. -
Peugeot 306 1.9 D - electrical / starting problem 3 Mar 2012 (Forum)
Hi all, I have a 1998 Peugeot 306 1.9 diesel which, 2 nights ago, I went to start as normal but after the glow plug light had gone out on the dash turning the key to start the engine caused all electrics to fail. When I had time to investigate more thoroughly the following day I checked all the fuses is both the fuse boxes (in the engine compartment near the battery, and under the drivers-side console), but all were fine. -
