  As a Honda HR-V owner, I've spoken to my Honda dealer ref a more powerful engine being installed. The last that I heard was that the 1.0 litre turbo of 129 bhp (130 ps) would be installed, but I'm not sure whether that would be mated to a CVT gearbox.

  Have others noticed that most shell filling stations in London no longer sell Shell Diesel Extra but ordinary Shell Diesel with the colour on the pump nozzle changed from black to blue or so. Is it in other to force Londoners to buy the expensive V-Power diesel?  This ordinary diesel gives a much lower mpg compared to Diesel extra, at least for my car   I have noticed this is not so in other cities like Birmingham.

  My cars average real life MPG (Honest John) is supposed to be 49. My reading fluctuates between 58.9 and 58.7. I have run the car only on Shell V Power diesel since owning it and have done way over 2k miles with this fuel. The car has been properly serviced and maintained by the book and has 60k miles on it. I have not done a proper brim to empty test yet, but wondered if other people's trip computer MPG's are as way out as what mine seems to be?

  Now 11 months, still satisfied, no further compaints, after 3 fill ups on Tesco momentum, shell v power, a noticeable improvement in fuel economy when on a "run", about 8% on my pifometer.... Due a service in December, so will go to the excellent Kerridges.. Off to see a UK spec MG HS shortly, but not on my future list...

  Last year due to a van re designing our Volvo we were loaned...don't ask me why.... a brand new Mecedes S class 3.2 diesel. It has comfort, enough power for anybody, a boot you could get a small sofa in and everything seemed excellent quality. Economy was v good for a large car too.  If money were no object I'd have one tomorrow but the thought of the bills would keep me awake at night.

  We have not been able to source a towbar from Honda or other manufacturers which is capable of powering the fridge and recharging the caravan battery for our HRV. Honda state ‘ that the capacity of the alternator with the HR-V is not high enough, meaning that during towing …….. the caravan can drain the battery’.
