Assymetrical Tyres 27 Sep 2003 (Forum)
Hi all! Looking at a Peugeot 307 the other day, I noticed that it was "wearing" a set of ContiPremiumContacts. These tyres have an assymetrical tread pattern in the transverse axis. What surprised me is that this assymetry is in an "in-out" way, rather than a "left-right" way. -

Car Recommendation? 21 Jan 2003 (Forum)
His criteria (as described to me) are: - "A bit different/stylish" (he doesn't need space) - "Not a convertible" - "Not a Citroen/Peugeot/Renault/Fiat/Alfa/Ford/Vauxhall" (!) - "Not a VW Golf" - "Reliable" He has between 10K and 12K to spend - any ideas? He's thinking of a used (yr 2000 on model) Toyota Celica although he doubts he'll be able to find one at this price/age/low mileage. -
Pollen filters + Misty Interior 3 Jan 2003 (Forum)
People have commented here that changing one's pollen filter can make the car smell nicer and stop the interior misting up. I am getting heavy screen misting in my Peugeot 206, unless I use hot air to the screen all the time. The A/C is selected but obviously not producing cold air. The misting occurs whether I am on fresh air or recirculate. Help please:- 1. -
Renault Clio - Lack of passenger space 26 May 2002 (Forum)
Granted, the Clio is a small car, and not as new as the spacious Yaris and Jazz etc. However, I'm used to sitting in the back of a mark 2 Polo and Peugeot 106, both of which seem miles more spacious. Time Renault improved it's act! Rob E -
Cam belt problem? 21 Jan 2002 (Forum)
I wonder if anyone can help me, I have a citroen ZX with the 1360cc engine fitted in every citroen/peugeot for the last 30 years. It has recently developed a 'ticking' noise, most notable at around 20/30 mph, but not at idle. I'm wondering if it could be a sign that the cam belt is about to break (I know nothing about engines and how they work.) -
Electrical problem 26 Nov 2001 (Forum)
Further info - Car is kept outdoors, has no known leaks and is free of body damage. C-L is factory-fitted but linked to an original-fit Peugeot remote alarm which is no longer operative and is switched out. Battery connections have been checked. Cannot identify any obvious culprit wher the sound seems to come from (near ECU?) Any ideas anyone ? -
Peugeot 508 Sw 2.0 HDi 16v - 508SW 2.0 HDi 16v Random Stalling at Idle. 27 May 2019 (Forum)
The Air Temp Sensor you could not even see due to the Grime. So I cleaned everything out and reassembled. Used the Peugeot Planet tool to reset everything and did the actuator tests etc.. Car is running fine at the moment but only time will tell.. I did notice when its at idle every 30 secs or so you can hear and feel the air flap open and close does this exactly 5 times in a row like open close wait a sec open close wait a sec 5 times then idles perfect for approx. 30 secs then does the 5 open close cycle again. suspect this is the EGR Valve Left the car at idle for about 30 with the Peugeot planet connect. -
Peugeot 208 2015 1.2VTI - ESP/ASR fault, diagnostic shows C1638 & C1135- EPS 9 May 2023 (Forum)
I had hoped to leave the EPS issues behind with my last 207 2)Is a new rack/EPS unit at £2k from Peugeot my only option? Are there any refurb or similar manufacturers out there, to maybe try and lower the cost? thanks -
Peugeot 306 steering rack removal 22 Mar 2013 (Forum)
This is relatively easy with a couple of jacks ( 6 bolts plus the clamp to the bottom of the engine) because the engine hangs from the top rather than sits on the subframe. This does entail undoing the anti-roll bar links which can be absolute pigs. The Peugeot one-use locking nuts seem to be to very fine tolerance limits, so a little rust on the top of the stud makes it impossible to get the nut off the stud and the T27 socket in the top of the stud easily rounds out. -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 95 2.0 XSI died and I'm too stupid to make it go 25 Oct 2009 (Forum)
Some (I won't bother swearing if it gets edited) cut the cable to the alarm just below the key that is just behind the radiator on the left (peugeot- if you are sat ontop of your battery) or right (haynes- if you are leaning into your bonnet considering taking a sledgehammer to the engine). Unfortunately all this cut has achieved is making it impossible to use the key that is in my top glove box to reset the alarm. -
Pug 206 XSi Various Probs 5 May 2005 (Forum)
After 15 minutes of running the engine was warm to touch but the top hose was not warm. Could this be a stat problem?? Peugeot have allegedly also checked out this fault and reported all is well. when asked why the courtesy car's needle sat in the 90 position, the service manager told my bro all cars are different! The car has been to three separate Pug dealerships. -

Any - Deposit refund ,is it reasonable to retain . 4 Nov 2012 (Forum)
A few days ago I received a phone enquiry on a Suzuki Sx4 diesel I advertised on autotrader .The buyer wanted to buy the car on behalf of his daughter and wanted to part exchange a Peugeot 1007 diesel .He offered £1500 plus the Peugeot .I agreed to the deal after doing a little research .It wasn't a good deal as a 1007 is not a sought after car ,and their wasn't much profit ,but times are heard and it gave me a different car to go on with . -
