Calling Ford Explorer Owners 6 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I'm thinking of buying a Ford Explorer and converting it to run on LPG. I know that I must ensure it's a multi-point injection system to illiminate possible backfires. What I want to know is people's experiences of the Explorer - Do you owners love it or loath it? Are there any niggling things about it? -

Please help me choose a car for a long commute 6 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Honda Accord - Good cars but again don't look great on the MPG front. Audi A6 - As per the Mondeo. I've looked at LPG but that doesn't seem as cost effective as it has been due to rising LPG prices. It could be I'm asking the impossible but I thought I'd throw it out there incase anyone has come up with a solution before or could recommend something. -
Ford Focus III (2008 - ) - Just spent 30 times normal budget on car 20 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Like to say thanks to those who replied to my question a few months back about new car choice. Thanks. I live in Italy so have a Ford fitted LPG system 2ltr petrol. Hyundai i30 only lost as they don't do a factory fit lpg system so Italy gov. incentives are not as generous. ( Ford equivalent road tax exempt for car life ) Also as long term purchase cost and availability of parts long term was a factor, and it seems that a lot of car racers use the ford 2 ltr duratech for tuning so must be strong and easy to work on. -
Jeep Cherokee (1993 - 2001) - 1997 Immobiliser Problem 7 Dec 2020 (Forum)
I would be happy to have the system removed but am informed the system was fitted when it was imported and is an integral part of the wiring system and impossible to take off. I had even done the honourable thing and had it converted to LPG. Any ideas or suggestions how to get me back on the road would be greatly appreciated Subject Line corrected to put make before model - PU -
Which small diesel car with high seating position? 21 Feb 2014 (Forum)
I had a yaris 02 1.4td which was excellent, but not many low mileage ones about. I have considered a petrol 1.2 fiesta with LPG conversion fitted, but worried the petrol engine wouldn't last as long as the diesel. I have also looked at citroen c3 1.4hdi but reports of rust etc on here. I liked the high seating position of the yaris and wondered if anyone could suggest something similar with all the above considered for a max £3-3500 -
Any! - What car shall I buy? 18 Jun 2013 (Forum)
I have been shopping around but just can't decide. I am looking for an econimical car maybe LPG/Diesel etc etc I am open to how its powered. I also like alot of gadgets in the car - auto lights/wipers, cruise, leather, built in sat nav and phone connection for music. I don't want too many miles on the clock but i'd love a good deal im looking to spend between £5000 - £10000. -
AMS in Grimsby. (dual fuel car dealers) 8 Dec 2007 (Forum)
They are a dual fuel company based in Grimsby: http://www.automotive-solutionsltd.co.uk/ and they have a good stock of cars and fleet vehicles available that are not only manufacturer fitted but LPG conversions done by themselves. To date, my own experience of dealings with AMS has been a good one and I am looking at 'closing a purchase' with this company in the next week or so. So far, talking on the phone and initial enquiries via emails about cars available that are dual fuel, have been more than very good. -
Astra ticking noise 21 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Hi, Apologies if this has been covered before, had a good search but maybe not in the right places... I have an 1999T Astra 1.6 LPG, done 129K. On the way home from work tonight I noticed a distinct ticking noise coming from the engine. It is perhaps loudest on acceleration, but it's also fairly noisy on idle. If it's of any relevance the oil light came on several days ago for a couple of seconds, but it's not lit up since then and certainly not today. -
What type of H.T.Leads? 17 Aug 2004 (Forum)
i am going to fit new plugs(NGK) and i also want replace the H.T.Leads as someone has told me this will likely be the cause and that i should fit 8mm raceing leads but they cannot remember the make of these leads, he also says that the people who make the leads specify that they are up to the job when it comes to Lpg as you need a bigger spark to ignite the fuel. does anyone know of these high performance leads? when i have asked at the car shops they look blank . First car for 17 year old daughter 24 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Would this be suitable car for her to learn in and use around town for a few years ? I believe it can run on both LPG and petrol. On another subject, I am also considering enrolling her for intensive tuition over two weeks with a driving test at the end of it. Does anyone have any experience of this type of learning and whether it is more or less effective than learning over an extended period ? -
Exhaust Emissions light on Astra 18 Jan 2004 (Forum)
I have a two-year old Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Estate with factory-fitted LPG conversion. Since mid-October the "Exhaust Emissions" light (engine symbol) has regularly been illuminated, sometimes flashing when I accelerate. The car is still under manufacturer's warrenty, so at no charge to me the "DIS Pack" (Direct Injection System?) -
Sludge under oil cap 22 Nov 2001 (Forum)
Hi I have a 1.6GLXi Skoda Octavia running on LPG which is 18 months - 20000 miles old. Recently I noticed a film 92mm thick) of tan sludge forming under the oil cap. I haven't noticed this before. There has been no apparent lose of coolant, the performance has not been suffering, the oil was clear when I changed it, there are no leaks around the engine block. -
Biodiesel 2 Jul 2001 (Forum)
Nothing on the AA, RAC, or Petrolbusters sites, with the exception on how far I can expect to travel for LPG. Like Chris and the question on the "Is some diesel fuel REALLY better?" thread, I'm quite keen to reduce motoring costs whilst inflicting a little less harm to the environment. Where can biodiesel be bought? -

BMW 528 - Does 3rd party insurance have the legal right - 12 Sep 2013 (Forum)
Anyway, I am not happy, they clearly have not taken into account any of the upgrades, especially the LPG conversion. Do they have any right in law to write the car off? Can I insist the car is NOT written off and ask them to make me an offer of compenation to enable me to have the repair carried out? -

Is E85 ethanol making a comeback? 10 Oct 2022 (Forum)
However, who has cars that can fill up with this fuel? In France Dacia also had success with dual fuel petrol/LPG cars. Is it likely that in future, Dacia will make cars whose engines will accept E85? -

They tested the battery and it was fully charged. The car ran perfectly the 30 miles home and has started again. What happened? It is an LPG conversion by the way and was serviced four weeks ago. It has travelled 110k miles
