• 95 Volvo 440 rear lamp unit 8 Aug 2004 (Forum)
  Evening all, our second car is a 95N Volvo 440 and I'm in the process of attending to various jobs on it whilst the weather's good. One problem is one of the rear lamp units. After it rains it mists up - presumably with rainwater running down the tailgate gutter and into the top of the unit somehow.

• Tyres losing air - Volvo 760 23 Feb 2004 (Forum)
  One of our cars, an elderly Volvo 760, needs its front tyres pumped up every fortnight. Pressure drops from the set 28psi to around 15psi. Both tyres are quite new. I have had the valves replaced and this has not changed things. The car has alloy wheels - could these be causing the problem if they are corroding on the rim?

  Please can that Volvo ad be changed? It\'s right in the way and when you click \'close\' it doesn\'t go away, it just compacts a bit. SORRY TO INTRUDE ON YOUR POSTING, GRUMPY, BUT IT\'S THE BEST WAY TO GET THE MESSAGE OVER QUICKLY AND STOP PEOPLE STARTING OTHER UNNECESSARY THREADS.

  A friend of mine has a Volvo 440 (L-reg) and the indicators don't flash, but are just on constantly when operated. I think the flasher unit must be to blame, the one problem being that we can't seem to find it. It isn't in the fuse box or with the other relays under the bonnet as far as we can see.

  Got a 99 S80 2.9 petrol that has a disconcerting habit of massive brake fade Its an auto The fade seems to be accompanied by a power surge, living in London I do a lot of stop/start driving, Its been to a main dealer but of course it didn\'t happen. Volvo have changed the servo under warranty & say this is still ok. Any input would be gratefully received [please don\'t type an entire note in upper case. It is considered to be \"shouting\" and discourteous.

    I was also intrigued at the mechanical differences between the three cars. The Peugeot and Volvo both having small petrol engines, a 1.5 3cyl in the XC40 and a 1.6 4cyl in the 3008. The Kuga on the other hand uses an engine a full litre bigger than the Volvo, a 2.5 4cyl. Yet the Kuga had the least power of the three with a combined total of 222bhp, the 3008 had the most with 296bhp and the Volvo on 258bhp.
