Fiat Punto diesel 2 Nov 2002 (Forum)
OK, so I bought one for the daughter despite HJ's description in the car-by-car breakdown. I had always thought Peugeot diesel was noisy when cold, but the Fiat makes it sound like a sewing machine. Then I discovered you can't drain all the oil out of the engine, as nearly a pint is held in the oil cooler. This is cleverly situated just behind the front "bumper", so as to be handy for those five miles an hour collisions. -
Berlingo - Low mileage cars 18 Mar 2022 (Forum)
Hi all. I'm looking at buying a Berlingo or Peugeot Partner. I've seen a 2013 model which has only done 46k miles. What are your thoughts on very low mileage cars? This example was doing 8k or so a year but the last 4 years has only been doing 2 or 3 k a year. -
Hyundai Matrix - Lambda reading for MOT 6 Aug 2015 (Forum)
I used to have a Peugeot diesel which failed a couple of MOT smoke tests. Using fuel additives (Forte Diesel Treatment and BG CF5) and some long hot motorway miles allowed the car to easily pass on re-testing. I now have a Hyundai Matrix which came close to failing the MOT Lamda emissions test. -

VW Golf 1.6 Tdi DSG 105 Bhp - Extended warranties 26 Jul 2013 (Forum)
I test drove one of these and was amazed at the performance as I was lead to believe the 1.6 diesel might be underpowered. The price was about £1000 more than it should have been, but it was a main dealer (Peugeot) and in a small rural town and it did come with a 5 year extended warranty. This seemed a fair deal, but I didn't want to be tied to that dealer for servicing. Wondered if anyone has had experience of such along warranty and would be worth buying independant of the dealer. -

How Reliable Is Your Car? 14 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Honda recording only a 9% failure rate with apparently the 99-03 Accord being their worst performer but even that is in the top 10 for family cars. What is surprising is that Citroen, Fiat and Peugeot, not firms renowned for reliability all ranked above BMW, VW, Volvo and Audi with Mercedes Benz languishing in 27th place. Thoughts? -

Ford - rusting 30 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Anyone know why though - surely its galvanised same as any other car? Never had any rusting problems on previous cars (Renaults and Peugeots) even after various stone chips and accident damage. Shame because its a really good car to drive but I think the rusting problem would put me off buying one. -
Question about car prices in the 1960s. 17 Apr 2008 (Forum)
I remember looking at a Renault 16. I remembering hoping it would be a Citroen DS. In the end it was an Austin A60. The Peugeot 404 was also on the shortlist. I'm pretty sure that the Wolseley16/60 was not. My question is "What would the respective prices of these various cars have been?" (Price was always an important consideration in my family.) -
Car written off - time to buy a new one 27 Mar 2008 (Forum)
My Peugeot 207 was written off last week (drunk driver steered into it whilst parked). I must say, I never really liked the car - sluggish and a bit like driving a tank. (1.4 model). Anyway, I don't have a huge budget (probably around 8k) and want to get something fairly new. -
Toyota Aygo (2005 - ) - Different from C1 and 107? 8 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I?m considering buying a Citroen C1 or Toyota Aygo (I don?t like the styling of the Peugeot 107). The Citroen dealer that I visited claimed that the C1, Aygo and 107 are, with the exception of a few styling details, identical cars. However, a Toyota dealer claimed that, other than the floorpan, the shell of the Aygo is different from that of its PSA counterparts and is made from a thicker gauge of steel.
