  • Millers Dieselplus 15 Apr 2002 (Forum)
I have tried it for the last 2 months in the hope of getting back the mpg of my old 1.9 nonturbo Peugeot to that prior to low sulphur diesel. I have noted no improvement at all, in fact a slight reduction (which could be within "experimental error"). I did ask the makers for data or trial results, but without success.
  • Dead Polo 4 Apr 2002 (Forum)
... needs replacing. I can only spend say, £1000 to £1500. I friend of mine has a Peugeot 309 which is quite nice (she's 18 and can just afford the insurance.) I want something cheap to insure and reliable, but with a bit of power if possible, e.g. a 1.4 309 or 205, possibly a base 306, or a Rover 114 Gta..
  • Peugout 306 LX 97-R 17 Mar 2002 (Forum)
Dear All, I want to buy a Peugeot 306 LX. A car I've looked at is a 1997 R-reg. It seems to be in excellent condition with only 21,000 miles on it(It doesn't have the rear head-rests though). The offers includes a year's MOT and full service.
  • Pug 205 26 Jun 2001 (Forum)
i own a 1987 peugeot 205 1.1 and have just changed the engine. It is running, and it starts fine, but has very very little power, and in neutral or with clutch to floor, when accelorater is pressed, it doesn't rev anything like as much as it should.
  • 7 seats but dont like MPVs 1 Apr 2001 (Forum)
I've got about £8-12k to spend and it has to be an automatic. My thoughts to date: Vauxhall Zafira, Peugeot 406 estate, maybe an old Mercedes E-class estate. Any thoughts? Who else has made 7 seat estates? Thanks - Robin
  • Choosing an automatic Family Vehicle 20 Feb 2024 (Forum)
My wishes are: automatic, reliability, fuel efficient, nice interior and not too boring to drive. So far my short list includes: Mazda CX 5 (2020/2021 model), Peugeot 2008 (2024) and Skoda Kamiq (2024).  Would love to have your feedback and if you can think of anything else, I would love to hear!
  • Corsa/Fiesta/Clio/208 - Used hatchback recommendations 4 Apr 2022 (Forum)
I am looking to buy a used car, no older than 2019 plate and probably less than 10k miles and probably under £13k.  I currently drive a Peugeot 207 which I've had 7 years but is starting to give me a lot of problems. Any recommendations for which would be best?  I drive around 10k a year.  I don't know much about cars so would love to hear your views.
  • Honda CRV - New Car Choice 27 Jun 2019 (Forum)
I’m thinking of changing my car shortly. Currently I have a Peugeot 407 TD, with 97000 on the clock. I commute 40 miles per day round trip, with 35 miles on motorway. Plus , of course, week end mileage. I can’t make up my mind between a petrol or diesel CRV, a 2.0 diesel Sportage, or a Mercedes C class in either 4 or 6 cylinder form.
  • JLR potentially up for sale to PSA 14 May 2019 (Forum)
I had my money on PSA going bust and could see no logic in buying Opel/Vauxhall when the latter seemed destined for the scrap heap. I don’t find their model range particularly logical or distinctive at least on the Peugeot side. What am I missing?
  • Citroen relay 2003 - 2.2 hdi timing issues 10 Apr 2017 (Forum)
Hi i have a 2003 citroen relay 2.2 hdi. Its the 8valve peugeot engine. Since owning it the van has felt like the timing is retarded. Problem I have is the flywheel does not have a timing hole. It appears to be an aftermarket job. Various guides on internet do not help.

  • Kia Carens diesel, any major niggles? 18 Sep 2013 (Forum)
The better half has decided that we need a new tow car for our caravan (950kg max). I'm quite happy with my old Peugeot 405 GRD, but it's an image thing and she who must be obeyed has spoken. After some research I believe the Carens, the old model, may meet all our requirements. Can't seem to find any common problems, bar it's ugly and hasn't kept it's value.
  • Help me choose 13 May 2011 (Forum)
I have narrowed it down to a Ford Ka or an early Toyota Yaris, but I am open to suggestions - but no Corsas, Peugeots or Citroens please!
  • Nissan Sunny (1986 - 1991) - 88 1.4 Fuel and temp guages both not working 17 Jun 2010 (Forum)
I bought this car as a very cheap little runaround after the demise of my Peugeot van but the fuel and temp guages dont register anything. It might be coincidence that they are both not working but I wonder if there is a known fault, maybe behind the dash. (The two guages are side by side).
  • Any - webuyanycar.com 1 May 2010 (Forum)
I am just about to collect a new car and thought I would try to sell my old '53' plate 48,000 mile Peugeot 307se auto through webuyanycar. They've offered £2,200 with some very minor supermarket body damage. I think that this is a fair price, and am aware of the charges they deduct; my question is, does anyone here have any direct experience of webuyanycar?
  • VAG CR diesel vs PSA HDI 17 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Does any people have any views or thoughts on the relative strengths and weakesses of VW/Audi TDI CR engines v's Peugeot HDI engines. I am intersted in aspects of design that influence durability, reliability and performance. Any views or thoughts would be appreciated. A non scientific scan of the backroom archives suggest that VW/Audi reliability is pretty poor given all the marketing hype.
  • Mazda Mazda 6 (2008 -) - 2.0 diesel servicing costs 18 Nov 2009 (Forum)
One of the cars that is on my shortlist as an eventual replacement for my faithful Pug is a Mazda 2.0d (or preferably the 2.2d) Mazda 6 (it's a short list containg a Skoda VRS or the Mazda) However, as I've perused various forums I've picked up on comments that Mazda's are very expensive to service. Does anybody drive and maintain one. I've spent £132 in the last two years servicing the Peugeot. I don't fancy a hefty increase.
  • Zafira / Touran and others - ownership 3 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Both the Opel Zafira and Volkswagen Touran have reasonable new car offers on them at the moment, undercutting the likes of renault / citroen / ford / peugeot / etc and making them the cheapest 'proper' 7 seater cars on the market. I just wondered what they were like for daily familly use, reliability, servicing, etc. Expecting to do around 15k miles per annum and own the car for 5 years.
  • Opel - Fiat engine use deal 2 Oct 2009 (Forum)
So is there an agreement that Opel can use the Fiat engines for x years ? Maybe these sort of deals happen more often than not (Rover using peugeot gearboxes for example) but I am surprised Opel can still use the engines with the agreement disssolved.
  • Bangs for your buck - used performance bargains. 13 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I think there are a few undiscovered gems that would make great weekend cars for bangernomics money. How about the Peugeot 306 xsi or the Nissan Primera GT? Both are highly rated by those who have driven them and good examples are little more than £1k. Are there any other examples of cars that can provide such cheap thrills?
