• Mazda 3 - My rights under warranty 30 Apr 2014 (Forum)
  Is this reasonable, as I don't think it is reasonable to expect me to drive the car untill I get stranded again, could be on the motorway next time..   Anyway, some advice would be appreciated if possible

  Many people who post say they are in forth or fith gear while at 30mph, at 30mph I am in third with the engine reving at just over 2000RPM and second at 20mph. So curious, what gear are you in at 30 or is my driving technique bad. Also, looking for, a replacment car and took outt a 3.0 Audi auto A5 for a test drive a couple days ago, but when I tried to stick to the 20mph speed limit on one of the side roads the auto box kept changing up a couple of seconds later down again, then 30 seconds up again, is it faulty, the car or me?

  Police confirmed yesterday that 39-year-old ,,,,, was detained in Frizinghall at 5pm on Monday. He is suspected to have been driving a Vauxhall Zafira which was in a crash with an Alfa Romeo in Queen’s Road, Manningham, at its junction with Valley Road, at 9.30pm on Saturday. Four people, including !,,,, his two-year-old and four-year-old were injured . )

  However, although they can't tell me, I would love to know why they would not cover the change of car. I am pretty much Mr average, driving an average car, in my mid 50's, never made a claim or had a point on my licence in 35 years of driving. What could possibly preclude me from getting cover?

  Looking for advice about Nissan Micra DCI I went to test drive. Took one for a spin around town it was fine. Before deciding to buy it I took a trip up the motorway and when it reached 70mph I noticed white smoke in the rear view mirror then it cut out. It wouldn't restart at first but after a minute it did and after a short drive it cut out again twice.

  Hi can anyone help sometimes when going to start car the coil lights don't go out so u can't start the car the mileage on dash changes to just lines after a few tries it will start that one problem next problem When driving along the coil light and engine light will flash up for a second then go off the car will jurk and it's ok after that no power loss but a bit down the road it will happen again it doesn't go into limp mode or anything but if u at standstill and it happens it cuts out but will start straight away Can anyone help as it's doing my head in trying to find what it can be its on a 07 plate 130bhp 6speed box it's drives like new until it jurks

  Dealer has done a software update re the injectors under warranty and changed a driveshaft but problems persist. Its driving me mad. Does anyone have any suggestions?, dealer seems to have lost interest and i've only had car since september!.

   Modern cam belts are tough enough to last the life of the engine unless one of the things it drives seizes.  The 15yr old 129,000m one on my Audi still looks large and tough enough to drive a BMW bike!   
• Honda Accord 1999 1.8iS VTEC - Klarius Front Exhaust Pipe Replacement Noisy 26 Sep 2013 (Forum)
  Asked the mechanic what he thought and he said he noticed it too, and so tested the exhaust and all checked out 100% but it's not what I want, it's much noisier when driving and sounds like a sports exhaust now. It even resonates in the cabin when driving. I'm confident in the mechanic and am sure that he has fitted it correctly. Any thoughts?

  I am having an intermittent problem with some of the electrics I.e. whilst driving I can hear an occasional clicking noise coming from under the glove compartment immediately when I hear this my vipers and indicators seem to stop working. Also if at night time my lights go off if I continue to drive eventually the car clicks again and the electrics return or otherwise I have to stop the car and restart.

  The car was sold for £3699 to me but I’m not sure now whether it’s actually safe to drive it with the engine light on all the time. Help!!!

  Neither the Radiator fan nor the Aircon fan kicks in no matter what you do. Luckily the car does not heat up during normal driving; it’s only at idle that the car heats up till the coolant is sprayed all over, suppose the air striking the radiator while driving cools it down. The fan works when supplied direct current.

  If there's a problem I would prefer to take action on it sooner rather than later! I'm meant to be driving home for Christmas tonight so won't want to spend the night on a hard shoulder somewhere :) Many thanks, Dom

  The only way to get it to start again is to spray easy start into the air intake. Imediately it will then start. Sound lumpy to begin with and then after 5 mins of driving, its as if nothing was ever wrong.  I can then get 300 to 500 miles of driving with many start -stops inbetween before the same thing happens again. I've had the injectors tested and although they were all showing lower than expected flow rates the garage say they dont think it is them that is causing the problem.

  driving on motorway for 2hrs approx 70 to 80mph in 5th gear, just keeping up with traffic, suddenly lost speed, car decelerated as though no petrol feed. floored accerlerator pedal, engine suddenly kicked in and speed picked up. fault recurred over next 2 hours but dissapeared after 20 min delay thru road incident. tried to reproduce fault conditions but without success. problem was there whether driving up hill, downhill or on the flat. only change to car was half tank petrol filled up with BP ultimate instead of bog standard tesco Preium for return journey. no alarms indicated and wierdest thing was rev meter stayed constant even as acceleration fell?

  About 8 months ago, someone bumped into the rear of my car whilst parked in a car park, hardly any noticible damage, in fact didnt notice for two days, however the bumper is ever so slightly pushed forward on the drivers side. Last night driving home I noticed what can be described as a 'metalic clatter' or like two metal plates being slapped together, or the sound a loose manhole cover makes when you drive over them, when I go over rough ground or speed bumps.

  It only happens going over some bumps not all and seems to stop when driving with the door open although have not being able to test this for any major distance for obvisous. If anyone has any ideas of how to resolve it or what it might be it would really help   Thanks
• 2010 Mazda 6 Estate 2.2D Sport - Steering Problem 26 Apr 2012 (Forum)
    Main dealer has had the car 3 times, the latest for several weeks and claims to have replaced the steering rack, checked tyres and had it digitally tracked 6 times, but the car continues to drive the same.  They say they can find no technical problem with the vehicle and it drives like any other Mazda 6.  Frustrated enough to consider getting rid, despite the loss.  Is there any likely cause that they could have missed?

  Insurer told me that car is total loss and wants  to take it for a scrap . Nothing mentioned what exactly was damaged . I drive the car for a 1-2 minutes when took the car to safe place and was driving well ( although there was leaking machine oil ) . How could I get information about their assessment and stopped my car sent for the scrap before I know should I decide to repair it ?

  Presumably the child did, since technically they were controllling a vehicle they were not licenced to drive, and too young to drive.  What about the parent who left the car parked blocking the road with 4 children in it?
